Show Local Students Visit Utah State Campus Teresa Nichols, Melinda Michaels, Kirsten Rasmussen, Sherrie Petersen and Catherine Rae Deiter, all of Brigham City, were among 100 outstanding high school seniors who spent Feb. at Utah State university acquainting themselves with the Logan campus, meeting faculty members and taking competitive examinations. The students from throughout the United States were competing for five University Club scholarships worth 55,000 each. They received invitations to the examinations because of high ratings they received on ACT and National Merit tests. She participates in Dance club, French club, concert choir, drill team and Jobs Daughters. She plans to major in elementary education. Kirsten, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell M. Rasmussen, Route 2, is a National Merit commended student and a Sterling Scholar nominee in drama. She was named most promising actress in 1970, best supporting actress in 1971, and best actress in 1972. She is Dance club secretary, Thespian vice president, French club president, Madrigal program chairman and was named outstanding French student and received superior ratings at the USU Language fair. She took first place in the American Legion essay contest. Kirsten plans to major in theater. Sherrie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George C. Petersen, 461 South Fourth West, is a member of National Honor society and Girls Athletic association.
