I dont know who originated that thought, but he must have raced with the Bear River Cutter association. You have to be dreaming if you dont know that racing horses tries mens very souls and tempers. I have yet to see or hear, of a difference that lasted very long after a race. Those infectious smiles of the members must be part of the reason. Without you, we would just be a bunch of guys crazy about horses, out here trying to prove a point, who has the fastest team. With its more fun! you We had a slick, hard, treacherous track last week, solid ice at the gates. The teams were doing a lot of slidding and slipping. . I know of some horses that were injured and some will show up sore. A good reasons to have that third horse in training. Boy, some of those drivers have to be a little crazy, Im sure it helps, along with being fearless and just plain gutty. Ive heard a lot of them say they just cant eat until the race is over. Have you noticed how they run to the hamburger stand and tank up after the race? Its hard to tell who is the more excited, the horses or the drivers. Its amusing to hear the drivers yell at the teams. It is impossible to put it on paper. Listen next week, especially at the gates. It didnt come undone until just before the finish line. He was winning, but had to pull the horses heads up to prevent the tounge from gouging the track and flipping the chariot over. It cost him the race but neither he nor the horses were injured. I hope all the teams have safety chains on them. They have saved many a serious accident. There is one driver out there who has been besieged by more tough luck than anyone I know. Spin Baty should get a medal for always trying. Last year his team left the gates without him, the first race and last week ended in for him this year disaster.
