Tuesday evening they hosted a (I. nner party at Log Haven for 74 guests. Thursday Mrs. Callister who is leadership chairman for development Li WC was guest speaker at the Womens council in Nephi. and Mrs. E.T. Hoskins of Portage; Mr. and Mrs. Lynn of Iverson Tremonton; Emerson Earl of Fielding; Mr. and Mrs. Jay Macfarlane of Riverside and Mr. and Mrs. Oleen Josephson of Plymouth. Mr. and Mrs. Emil Kupfer of Bothwell returned home Friday after visiting Mr. and Mrs. Willard Anderson and family in Stevensvllle, Mont. They also visited Mrs. Leona Anderson who is recuperating from a recent illness and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Lind in LoLo, Mont. First Meeting The Garland Camp of DUP met at the home of Alice Nye for their first meeting for the season. Captain Mabel Munns conducted the meeting and also gave a pioneer history of Elizabeth Ann Cowley Udy. Esther Coombs gave a lesson on "Historical Events Which Took Place in 1872. Special guests were Mrs. Max Beal of College Park, Md., and Mrs. George Kirby of Garland. Light refreshments were served. Visiting Mrs. Mina Ward in Riverside Thursday were Mr. and Mrs. Ross Shirley and daughter, Janet and Mr. and Mrs. Neal Shirley of Sugar City, Idaho. Mrs. Ward is spending this week visiting Mr. and Mrs. Walter Harris in Ogden. Mrs. Ernest Anger of Fielding accompanied by Mrs. James Westley and daughters Marla and Michelle of Brigham City spent Saturday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Darold Simmons and family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Anger in Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs. Garil Anger and family in Bountiful. Mrs. Esther Clough of North Garland left Sunday by plane for Tilton, N.H. to visit her Mrs. Charles Towners and Mrs. Percy sister-in-law- s Benedict and families. She will be gone indefinitely. Mrs. Smith remained in Salt Lake City to visit her daughter Mrs. Grant McFarland and family. s. Bridal Shower A bridal shower was held at the home of Mrs. Tess Hess in Fielding Friday evening in compliment to Carol Ann Scott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Scott of Fielding who will become the bride of Randy Hess, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Hess of Plymouth on Sept. 22. Bothwell and Fielding residents were sorry to learn that Jerry Anderson, son of Eldon and Erma Grover Anderson of Boise was killed in a car accident Saturday. Eldon is a former resident of Bothwell and Erma was from Fielding. Mae Bosley of Bothwell is receiving medical care at the McKay hospital in Ogden. Dr. and Mrs. LaMar arris of Tremonton have returned after spending a week in Portland where they enjoyed salmon fishing. Guests at their home last week were Dr. and Mrs. Louis G. Lecture To Start Course A lecture Wednesday, Sept. 27, in the council room of the city hall at 7:30 p.m. will kick off a series of classes on positive thinking to be conducted in this area.
