Show 12 BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, Utah Thursday, September 21, 1972 Mantua Meandering Local Residents 1EM1 Await 'Cleanup Fall Party The Relief Society Fall Party will be Wednesday evening Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. This event will s be best dress or formal. The Relief Society has a new lesson plan being taught this year on raising children and being a better parent. This class will be held twice a month during the day. The teacher will be the Relief Society President Dorothy Jeppsen. I am looking forward to this class as Im sure many other mother's will be. Weddlag Reception wedding receptioA'1 onftjf ju van uc mcrwe anu Dale Ernest Jensen turned out to be a beautiful occasion. The late summer evening was gaily by daisys lightened everywhere. Daisys are Becky Jos favorite flower. Daisys enhanced the wedding cake which set on a blue satin covered table in the center of the garden, with a light shining on it from above. The bouquets the attendants Judith and Jewel Van de Merwe, Sheila Reeves and Janet Crandall carried were made up of daisys along with their little daisy bedecked blue hats. A large crowd of well wishers were in attendance. We have another engaged miss in town. Colleen Sheehan, daughter of Paul and Ruth Sheehan is betrothed to Scott Rampton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Rampton of Charlotte North Carolina. The other daughter in the Sheehan household, Paula, has some interesting news. Paula went with the Brigham City Bethel of Jobs Daughters to the Supreme Session at Anaheim, Calif, for 9 days. While there visited Disneyland, they Universal Studios during the filming of a TV show, Marine Land, the beach and the formal banquet for the Jobs Daughters. In world competition their Bethel came out in fourth place. Paula is the pianist for this group. On the way home they stopped at Las Vegas and a late dinner. enjoyed Concerning all this Ruth says, Dad and I stay home earning while shes out spending." Well that sounds like a nice arrangement to me Paula. Bruce Carr recently spent a week in Los Angeles on business. He has not yet told me how the was. smog You will never guess what Rita Nelson, Cresta Sorenson, and Lola Jensen have been up to. Well, last week they took their poles and hip boots and went up to Porcipine fishing. Im told that Cresta is the real of the bunch. expert Rita said she was catching fish as fast as she could bait her line. After fishing the women made a bonfire and had a wiener roast. Top that one The Odette Davis has a beautiful new baby girl. The baby weighed eight pounds 10 ounces at birth and was 21 inches long. The child has been named Julie. The grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Earl and Halley Sherratt. The Mutual Marrleds party will be held this Friday night at the girls home. This will be a steak fry. Everyone is to bring their own Paula and Charles Sullivan doing fine. They are now living in Plains City in their new home. Paula says she misses her friends but is so happy to be she can settled that not regret leaving Mantua. They were busy putting in their lawn last Saturday. Dean Hailing, a junior at high school, was lnnitiated into the Thespian Club Thursday night. This Is a national orglnazltion honoring those who show talent in the field of drama. are Congratulations Dean. I asked Deans older sister, Elaine, how she liked being a senior this year. This group has been having a problem getting enough supporters which is sad when we are fortunate enough to have as the conductor Gordon Bigler. They hope to get a larger turn out this winter. Everyone interested in singing should attend and take advantage of this opportunity. Besides it says in the Good Book" that if we do not use our talents they will be taken from us. We would like to end on a happy note but the last news we received was that Herm Jeppsen has had a bad fall and was taken by ambulance to Cooley Memorial hospital. You may also buy your PTA membership at this meeting. All the schools. High school, Junior High and elementary will be having a door to door membership drive on Sept 26. They are trying to get 100 percent parent participation in the PTA this year. Town Clean Up Let met remind you of town clean again up Saturday Sept. 23. Residents are requested to place all trash, garbage, etc. in front of their homes near the road. The Beautifcation committee the help of all Mantua towns people in this undertaking. Those who wish to help are to meet at the school house at 8 a.m. They are asked to bring shovels, rakes and pick-u- p trucks. Please do not forget the cemetery. Old flowers and containers, etc. should be removed.
