Show 10 BOX JOURNAL, Brigham City, Utah Thursday, April 8, 1971 ELDER Children Give Program A play in which the Churkendoose was cast as the lead character highlighted a program presented by third grade students at Lincoln Elementary school for their parents March 31. Some 83 youngsters took part in the show which also featured singing, dancing, exercise routines and choral readings. Directing the entertainment event were Alene Howarth, Gaye Hirschi and Maxine Adamson. - APPEAR IN PLAY Pictured are members of the cast for the Churkendoose play which third grade students presented for their parents and the public March 31. Parents and children entered into the spirit of the occasion in helping make costumes for the Churkendoose play. Members of the cast included Rea Jeppson as the Churkendoose with Laurie Valasquez as the chicken, Kenny Harlow as the turkey, Dallen Spencer as the fox, Chris Reeder as the goose, Eric Done as the duck, Jimmy Graham as the horse and Carl Nelson and Zane Checketts as the yw. Narrators wer John Kelly, JoLynn McCosh and Arthur Heredia. Grouse Creek Reports Relatives Sorrowing Servicemans Death By Marge Thompson Our week has begun with sadness Relatives In the 'community. and friends are deeply sorrowing the death of Terry Kimber who was reported killed in action at Vietnam this week. Terry Is a son of Oren and Opal Kimber and his wife, Judy, and baby are living in Brigham. Karma Smith of Ogden was also a weekend guest there. Mrs. Olive Kimber returned to Salt Lake with the Richardsons for a visit. Doug and Luana Richins and family, Sherman Anita and Steven of Riverside were here over the weekend and stayed at Jennie Richins home. They reported that their son, Sheldon, who is serving in Vietnam is on a rest leave and will be in Australia for a short time. Janet Blanthorn was guest of honor at a birthday party on Tuesday evening. A few girls enjoyed a pizza supper at her home, then after attending MIA they went back for a slumber party. Participating were Gwen and Jackie Kimber, Rae Dean Thompson and Betty Kimber. Weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Valison Tanner were Monte and Virginia Tanner and family, Lindsay, Terri Lyn, Cathy, Tim and Jennie Beth, of Plain City. Peggy and Lynn Kay of Tremonton brought their sons, Todd and Wade, for a few days visit with Bryan and Bobbie Blanthorn and family while the Kays drove to Las Vegas and San Diego. They were visiting Mr. and Mrs. Paul Blanthorn and family and with Mr. and Mrs. Eddie (Patsy) Welch and other relatives. Bruce Blanthorn and a friend, Marv Berry of Tremonton were also visitors of the Bryan Blanthorns for several days this week.
