The Royals blasted the local squad, 22 to 4, in a Region One opener at Roy Tuesday after chalking up eight runs in the first inning. Eagle Jimmy Hoskie took over the mound during the second inning and didnt allow d any Royal hits for two and innings. However the Roy crew opened up again in the latter part of the game to score the remaining runs. Ernest Joseph drove in all four runs for the Eagles with a double and single. Determining accumulation of mercury in Utah wildlife is the objective of a project now in progress, according to John E. Phelps, director of the Utah Division of Fish and Game. Director Phelps actual is testing reported being con- ducted at five different locations to provide cross checks on data received. Testing of pheasants, chukars, and fish collected in September and October, 1970 has been completed but analysis and interpretation of the data is not finished. Director Phelps said, until additional tests are completed and the information analyzed, we cannot determine if any problems exist regarding accumulation of mercury in Utah wildlife. The lunkers weighed in at nine and seven pounds. They were the largest trout ever landed by the youthful angler, a former baseball and football standout at Box Elder High school. Fishing in company with neighbor Nobe Wells, Dokos hooked both fish using night crawlers and angling on the bottom. He took them using line and leader. Dokos estimated it required about 12 or 13 minutes to land the larger fish, the other one not quite so long. He hooked a third fish but it got away.
