Show BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham 18 City, Utah Thursday, November 12, 1970 Race Injures Local Cyclist Grouse Creek Reports Ecumenical Ranchers By Marge Thompson Many loads of cattle have been shipped out of this community the past few weeks, and along with the county road crew who have been doing some graveling, the roads have been kept busy. The county men are almost finished with their intended project and will probably move out this week. A Halloween carnival was enjoyed by the school students and their teachers, Lyman and Eula Kimber, on Friday evening. Parents and children were also invited to the school to participate in the activities. Punch and doughnuts were served to everyone. Welcome home to Mrs. Irma Warburton, her sons, Jeff and Chris, and their new baby pre-scho- daughter. Reese Warburton went to Logan on Friday and brought them home, after being with Irmas parents in Logan for several weeks. Congratulations on bringing home another welcome member of the community. Ray and Wilda Kimber drove to Salt Lake last Friday to take their son, David, back from a y leave at home. From Salt Lake, David flew to the Marine Base at Twenty Nine Palms in California. The Kimbers also visited overnight with their daughter, Judy and Bob Bar-neand son, Dean in Bountiful. David just recently returned from active duty in Vietnam and will continue with the Marines until his release in April. Peggy and Lynn Kay and children drove out from Tremonton Sunday to celebrate Bobbie Blanthorns birthday anniversary with her. dt Cattle Dawna Rae Kimber celebrated her fourth birthday anniversary with a small family party this week. She ac- joyed the Halloween holiday there. Our best wishes for a speedy recovery go to Mrs. Myrtle Toyn who Is In the McKay companied Mrs. Wilda Kimber and Sharon to Brigham for a couple of days. Hospital home honoring Del Fisher. Along with the hosts and their men friends were Kerry and Norma Jean Mecham and family, Dick and Linda Kathleen Mecham and Pat children. A delicious dinner was enjoyed and a novelty birthday cake made and decorated by Kathleen was a highlight of the evening. Deer and fish decorations made it quite unique. Mrs. Vinnie Kunzler and Bonnie Carter of Park Valley were weekend visitors of Bishop Merlin and Kenna Tanner and family. They accompanied Blaine and Laraine Tanner home from school for the weekend. Karma Smith of Ogden spent the weekend with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Winfred Kimber. Mr. and Mrs. Winfred Kimber motored to Ogden this week to greet their grandson, Wynn Coveio, who just returned from and Doug Tanner and children, she where recovering following a serious stroke. Hughie Thompson was in Ogden Monday evening on a business trip and called on the Darrell Tanners and his daughter, LaNette. Spending the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kimber, were Dennis and Laraine Kimber and family of Logan. They furnished the program for our scrament meeting on Sunday. Host Hunters Max and Melissa Tanner have been kept busy during the deer hunting season. Visiting at their home while they hunt in Nevada are Del Fisher, Harold Grahlman and Van Laurence of Stockton, Calif. Leon Paulo from Williams, Calif, and Glen Vanderford and Gene Klotz of Sacramento. Last Thursday evening a birthday party was held at their Mecham, State Enrollment Up t Valley with Junior and Diane Kimber and helped them in their store there. Mrs. Amanda Paskett accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Arlin Madsen of Deweyville to Tremonton for a weekend visit with' Afton and Oscar Koford. Mrs. Ella Tanner is visiting in Ogden with her mother, Mrs. Mary Betteridge, and other members of her family there for a few days. Join for Birthdays Mrs. Rhea Toyn entertained guests Friday honoring Archie Toyn, Lyman Kimber and Douglas Tanner, whose birthday anniversaries all came on that day. A delicious fried chicken dinner was served to Doug and Kathleen Tanner and children, Donna Kay, DeAnn and Amy, Lyman and Eula Kimber and Archie Toyn. Birthday gifts were also exchanged. Grant Kimber, Ray Kimber and John Gross were in Friday on business for the BLM. Brigh-Brigha- Mrs. Arlin Madson was a guest of the Relief society Tuesday for the spiritual living meeting. Ivan Kimber was in Brigham and Monday for a check-u- p reported that all is well. He is getting around on crutches. Ivan accompanied Lynn and Gloria Kimber back after they spent the weekend here. Mrs. Raida Kimber accompanied Mr. and Mrs. John Gross to Brigham Monday and they brought Ivan home. Archie Toyn made a business trip to Brigham on Thursday and called on Gail and Bob Of Christ p.m. Senior high fellowship War and the Christian. Jay Tanner was ordained a deacon in priesthood meeting on Sunday and this is news in Grouse Creek, since he is the first to be ordained for a year. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kimber were in Burley on Wednesday for a dental appointment. Talbot, state superintendent of public instruction. The Box Elder School district recorded a decrease in school population from 9,372 in 1969 to 9,213 in 1970. This is a decrease of 159 which equals 1.70 percent. Statewide, an additional 1,201 students were added to the school population this year, an increase of .4 percent. Dispatcher Sheridan Nelson was reported in "satisfactory condition with leg injuries, at the Logan LDS hospital Wednesday afternoon, a hospital spokesman reported.
