Show WIILARD REPORTS Rain Douses Fourth Celebration But Activities Still Continue By Mrs. Webster Tucker come Rain, rain, go away; again another day," was really the theme song for many youngsters and some oidsters around town on the Fourth of July The childrens parade was really dampened and the races usually held after the parade were held m the afternoon when the clouds had dropped their welcomed showers and drifted away. Everyone who ran in the races was given some money and like all happy children on the Fourth of July, had fun spending it at the booths for hot dogs, popsicles, fish pond surprises, throw the hoop prizes and other intriguing knick knacks. Sour cherries and apricots will soon be ready for harvest. Mr. and Mrs. Irvil Younger and their son, Doug, spent the weekend and holiday at Yellowstone park for a nice change from the routine. Mr. and Mrs. Fenton Waite and their daughter, Mrs Mary Ann Barber and two children had a nice week of vacation in California visiting Disneyland, the beach, Knotts Berry farm, and other points of interest along the coastal route to San Francisco and home. Miss LaDawn Lemon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Lemon, work-a-da- y entertained ten of her friends at a patio supper and slumber party to celebrate her 11th birthday.
