Show 1 Republican women launch drive Need volunteers for 'Smokeouf The Box Elder Federation of Republican Women is looking for new members, and theyll concentrate their membership as interest in drive on Nov.-1-1elections is at its highest. Although the federation was active for many years in the county, it has become inactive and has been rejuvenated with new officers and new plans for the coming months. The federation will be holding six informative meetings a in for volunteers to cigarettes on Nov. Plans include passing out pledge cards in schools, offices, and shopping centers. The pledge card is important as a psychological commitment to help the smoker. The Cancer society is not asking smokers to quit, just to give it up for one day. Its the sense of control thats important, said Nelson. Each cigarette not smoked is a health benefit for the smoker.
