Court change times are every hour and a half from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Lights go off the courts at 10:30 or 11 p.m. allowing a bonus to late players, Winn added. there still needs to be clarification of the Brigham City Re- creation department racquet rule, according to director Jack net event scheduled All-Willa- rd Winn. We would like to remind citizens of court change times, Winn said, which replaced the old rules of l2 hours of play. People abused the old rule and the racquet rule went into affect. Beginning at 5:30 a.m., court changes come every l2 hours. Therefore a person will be allowed l2 hours of playing time if he or she starts and finishes at the court change time. Our troubles have arisen when the courts were not in use. Then as others arrived prior to change times, expecting to get on the courts, these other prior arrivals became unwilling to relinquish courts according to change times, Winn said. Players need to familiarize themselves with change times to alleviate these problems. The City tennis tournament will be held Aug. 19 and 20 and it was announced this week. Deadline for registration is Wednesday. Players may pick up registration forms from Hazel Dalton or Ralph Kolts. Fee is $1.50 for seniors and $1 for juniors and will cover all events entered, a spokesman said. Singles, doubles and mixed doubles events are planned. . There will be classes for all ages, with those 18 and over in the senior division. A special over 50 class will be held if enough players sign up. Prizes will be awarded the top three places in each class, the spokesman said. Junior play will start Aug. 19 and senior competition the next day.
