Jeff Williams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Farrel Williams of was selected to the team as a forward, the position he played in high school. The JV club includes six Utahns, three players from Idaho, one from Brazil and one each from Illinois and Nevada. In addition, three freshmen Dean Hunger of Davis, Steve Pinegar of Provo and Bob Bergstrom of Loveland Colo. will play on the varsity club their first year. Heading the program will be varsity assistant coach Rod Tueller, but most of the work with the program will be handled by Brad Monks, a student assistant working on his degree and former Utah State standout Bob Lauriski, who was recently released by the NBA Golden State Warriors. Last year the Ramblers had their worst season in 10 yars but this years team will have more height inside and quicker guards than last year. In the last games of the first round, the Youngbloods defeated the Spikettei in five games. Debbie Robinette was high server for the winners with 21 and Debbie Roper had 17 for the Spikettes. The Competition and Rascals had a good match as they went the full five games before- the rascals came out on top. Marilyn Ayotte had 22 points for the losers and RayLin Christensen 17 for the winners. The took three straight from the Globettes in the other match. Carol De-Monge served 16 points for the Bee golfer 4-- gains award " Athlete of the week honors have been bestowed on Gene Munk, a senior golfer at Box Elder High school who led his team to a tie for second in the Class tournament recently. A three-yeletterman, he was two time medalist at the school with a 39 in 1975 and a 38 this season. In the state tournament this year, he finished in a tie for second place for madalist honors with teammate Doug Bybee. He fired a 75 in the state meet, which helped his team forge a tie for second behind Skylines Eagles. Last year, he finished in 10th place for individual honors as the Bees took 10th in state. Gene is the son of Mr. and Mrs. LaThair Munk of 515 West Sixth South in Brigham City. Parisi was a member of the Brazilian National Junior team which Oscar Williams, Aggie varsity guard, played against three years ago in a trip through Brazil. The Rambler schedule will include 14 home games and seven road trips. The Ramblers will also take part in the Snow college Tournament, Dec. playing College of Eastern Utah on Friday night and Snow college Saturday. Also on the schedule will be the National Junior college champions, College of Southern Idaho from Twin Falls, home and away. CSI has lost only three times since their beginning in 1966. Two of CSIs three home losses since 1966 were at the hands of the USU JV and freshmen teams. The Ramblers will face Ricks college, BYU JV and Weber State JV twice each, Utah Trade Tech at Provo four times (three at home) along with " Boise State JV, Idaho State, JV, and Southern Utah State college JV. There are currently two open home dates on Jan. 6, and Jan. 29. City basketball opens first round Nov. 15 Winless The opening games of the first round saw the Spikettes keep the Globettes winless, winning three of four games. Nettie Salmon served 17 for the winners and Kellie Munns had 11 fr the Globettes. The Youngbloods and Rascals went at it in five hard fought games in the next match with the final going odd points to the Rascals. Annette Sackett was high server in the league with a season high 27, playing in four games. Judy Loveland had 23 points for the winners. The Competition lost three, Thelma straight to the s. Pilewiczhad 20 points and Faye Petersen was high scorer for the losers. On Nov. 3, the Competition and Youngbloods went at it again, taking five games to settle the winners. Marilyn Ayottes 18 points, high for the Competition, paced the team to the win. Annette Sackett had 13 for Youngbloods. The kept their win streak alive with three straight over the Globettes.
