Andrus exchanged marriage vows on Friday, Aug. 22, in the Salt Lake LDS temple. Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Earl L. Gray, Bri- gham City, and the bridegroom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Owen E. Andrus, Holladay. The wedding breakfast was hosted by the bridegrooms parents at the Lion House in Salt Lake City. The evening of the wedding the couple was honored at a reception in the LDS Indian chapel in Brigham City, where the hall was beautifully decorated in peach and green. Hosts and hostesses greeting guests at the door were Dr. and Mrs. Roy Barnard, Perry, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Price, the brides aunt and uncle from Lehi. For the wedding, the bride wore a gown of chiffon and venise cotton lace. The high neckline, yoke and taper sleeve were trimmed with a lace ruffle. The skirt formed a chapel train trimmed with a wide ruffle of venise lace. The gown was adorned with lace applique and pearls. She wore a head-piec- e of lace with a brides illusion finger tip veil. SHIRLEY GROVER Local couple will wed in announce marriage of their Mr. and Mrs. Norman Grover of Brigham City the engagement and forthcoming daughter, Shirley, to Gary Cook, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alton Miss 1 floor-lengt- peach d straw hat wit tulle tie was worn by the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were matching floorlength misty green crepe gowns and hats. Flower girl, Teressa Andrus, niece of the bridegroom, wore a peach floorlength crepe gown. The mothers of the bride and bridegroom chose floorlength gowns of pech color venise lace. Acting as best man was the bridegrooms brother, Richard Andrus, and groomsman was the former Miss Pam Gray, who traded with Charles M. Andrus on Aug. 22 in the vows marriage Salt Lake LDS temple. A RECENT BRIDE is and Mrs. John Fawson went to St. George and visited their son Mr. and and daughter-in-laMrs. Don Fawson. the brides brother, Bryan Gray. Ushers were Frank Pet- erson and Lewis Mousley. The bridegroom wore a black tuxedo for the occasion, and all other men wore champagne and black colored tuxedos. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Gray of Lehi, grandparents of the bride, were also present to greet guests. At Reception Mrs. Jon Jepperson was seated at the guest book in a lovely misty green gown. Miss Cindy Wankier was in charge of the gift table with giftbearers being Brent Gray, the brides brother, and Ryan Price, the brides cousin. Miss Kathleen Payne furnished the beautiful organ music throughout the evening. Mrs. Edgar Richardson was in charge of the serving. Ser- vers included baton twirling students of the bride who were h dressed in misty green gowns with floorlength peach aprons. They were floor-lengt- Misses Krissy Claybaugh, Carrie Collins, Tami Schmidt, and Lillian Gordon. The bridal table was centered with a seven-tiere- d wedding cake which was served to guests by Misses Kristy Deakin and Jill Williams. They were dressed in the same attire as the other servers. Prior to the wedding the bride was honored at a miscellaneous shower by Mrs. Roy Barnard; kitchen shower by Mrs. Edgar and Kaylee Richardson; miscellaneous shower by Mrs. Leslie and Debbie Dunn; a family dinner by Dr. and Mrs. Owen Andrus. The newlyweds will honeymoon to Hawaii afterwhich they will reside in Salt Lake to continue their education at the University of Utah. Daughter Visits Had a pleasant chat with Mrs. Edna Merrell yesterday and and learned that her daughter Dr. and Mrs. Marlowe Thorne of Urbana, 111., have spent 10 days in Utah. They came here at this time to see their daughter Elaine graduate from the BYU in the field of recreational therapy. She will leave immediately for San Bernardino, Calif., where she will be employed at a childrens hospital. They also were anxious to see son-in-la- their new granddaughter who was born in July to their son and daughter-in-laMr. and Mrs. Melvin Thorne of Provo. They were here for the christening of the little girl who was named Lisa. Mrs. Merrell, the babys motored to Provo with the Thornes for the event. While the visitors were here on they had a family cook-ou- t the patio at the Merrell home which included her and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Don Freeman, Ogden and another and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Velroy Christensen of this city. It was also Mrs. Merrells birthday anniversary. Thorne is employed in agricultural research and extension at the University of Illinois. He was recently elected president-elec- t of the American Society of Agronomy. family visitors and vacation trips. Their most recent visitors were Mrs. Ina Rosham of Auburn, Wash., and Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Fawson of Guernsey, Channell Island, England. The visitors will the Millers and Ernest Johnston of this city took a three-da- y trip to Yellowstone park and Jackson, Wyo. They came back to Brigham City and left for a three-da- y Fawson family reunion in Provo canyon. Visiting with the Millers also have been her sister Mrs. Marvin (Rotha) Jones and daughter Becky of Burley, Idaho. The Joneses had just returned from a trip to New Jersey where they visited with a and daughter Mr. and Mrs. John (Mary) Kenney and family. They traveled from New Jersey to Miami, Fla., where they visited a son and daughter-in-laMr. and Mrs. John (Melinda) Jones. John is in Florida with the U.S. Coast Guard. They also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Benedict in Eunice, La. Other visitors at the Millers were her brother and sister-in-laMr. and Mrs. John Fawson of Vallejo, Calif. The Millers hosted a family at their home for the visitors which included Mrs. Debra Hickman and David Jones of Burley, Idaho, Mr. and Mrs. Reese Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Westley, and Mr. and Mrs. Arvel Marcroft of this city. While they were in Utah Mr. son-in-la- n -- J. Lanell Foote r, Homemakers set meat seminar with Cook also of Brigham City. Grover is a 1967 graduate of Box Elder High school. She is also a graduate of Utah State university where she was active in student senate, Panhellenic, Business Department curriculum review board, listed with Who's Who, Alpha Kappa Psi sweetheart and affiliated with Kappa Delta sorority. She majored in business education and office administration. Since that time she has worked in San Frans isco for three years and now is a manufacturer's representative in Salt Lake City. Cook is a 966 graduate of Box Elder High school. He fulfilled a mission for the LDS Church serving in the central states mission, where he was mission editor, zone leader, and assistant to the mission president. He attended Utah State university where he majored in political science and was active in student government, Intrafraternity council, and affiliated with Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. Since that time he has been a manufacturer's representative for the rocky mountain states. The couple will trade marriage vows on Sept. 2, and will be honored that evening at a reception at the residence of the bride's paranfs. Following their marriage the couple will be residing in Salt Lake City where ,hey will continue their sales business. D. Serving as bridesmaids were Miss Heidi Daines, Miss Debbie Dunn, Mrs. Dave Carpenter, and Mrs. Richard Andrus, sister-in-laof h the bridegroom. While they were in California they also went to Mountain View and visited Leslie Fawsons sister. After meeting all the Fawson relatives in this area the Leslie Fawsons left for Connecticut and Maine to visit other relatives before returning home. Buzzing Around Mrs. Ruby Smith has been so happy to have her daughter Mrs. George D. (Francine) Jensen of Sonoma, Calif., spend a week in Utah. She also visited in Logan with his folks and while she was here hosted a dinner for his father George C. Jensen who was celebrating his 97th birthday. The guest list included Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Wayne (Pat) Hunsaker of this city, Mrs. Velma Douglas of Logan, the guest of honor and his wife. While Mrs. Jensen was here Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Hunsaker hosted a dinner at Maddox Ranch House for her. Mr. Jensen wasnt able to come to Utah with his wife due to a near drowning incident from which he has not fully recovered. Mrs. Jensen returned to her home in Sonoma Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Holt and children Janet, Julie and Dale returned to their home in El Cajon, Calif. Friday. The children have spent the summer here with their grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Endress. The Holts came to Utah to get the children and attend his sister Jane Endresses wedding last Friday. Golf tourney beckons to eagles ladies Eagles Auxiliary sponsored ladies golf program will hold a blind partner tournament on Monday, Aug. 25, at the local course. Afternoon members are reminded to call early for their tee times in order to be eligible for the days prizes. A drawing will be held at that time to select a queen and four attendants to reign over the junior parade and childrens activities associated with Peach Days. Contestants must be of kindergarten age, which is five years old by Oct. 31, ancLshould be sponsored by an organization. Parents who wish to have their daughters entered in the contest should call their own club president to arrange for sponsorship. All contestants will ride on a float in both the junior parade and the regular Peach Days parade, and will be introduced at the annual talent night and during the Peach Queen pag- eant. Monday, ming party from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Brigham City pool. The girls will meet first in the Bowery for a court of awards ceremony, at which time there will be several honors bestowed on local girls. One of Girl Scoutings highest awards, the First Class Scout, will be presented to a Cadette and several juniors will receive the Sign of the Arrow and Sign of the Star. Cookie patches will also be presented. Each girl is asked to bring her own admission fee, suit and towel for an anjoyable afternoon of swimming fun. After the swimming there will be refreshments served in the bowery courtesy of the neighborhood. Since this is not a troop activity, each girl will be responsible for her own transportation to and from the park. However, leaders are urged to contact all girls to make sure they are aware of the party. There will be a brief neighborhood meeting at 12:45 p.m. preceding the party in order to pre-scho- ol Brigham City Golf and Country club ladies auxiliary will hold its regular monthly luncheon on Tuesday, Aug. 26, at the conclusion of the Brigham City ladies amateur tournament. The tournament is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, and winners will be announced at the luncheon. Any local woman golfer with an established handicap is eligible to play in the tournaments. Chairman for the luncheon is Dot Voris, with advance reser-ation- s to be made either with her or by signup at the clubhouse.
