This hearing is being held pursuant to requirements of Section 101(e) of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act Amendments of 1972 (P.L. and Federal Regulation CFR Authority for conducting the hearing is contained in Sections and 4, through 13, Utah Code Annotated, 1953, as amended. The Bear, River Basin study presently under consideration fulfills the requirements of a 303(e Basin Plan. It provides r, assessment of baseline data .ad forcast information on 1 basin demography and population. Water Quality data obtained through an intensive stream monitoring program was used to assess existing water quality and define existing point and sources of pollution requiring abatement actions. The Utah State water quality standards and criteria were reviewed to examine their adequacy for defining water quality problems. The water resources of the basin were analyzed to deterwater mine water uses, resource constraints and water quality problems directly related to water quantity.
