He had been gone a week and I merely thought he had used up the last of his nine lives. He had gained some value since he walked into our house for the first time, a homeless stray, about nine months ago. ESTHER HUNTER and STEVEN THORSEN Couple circles date for fall temple rite Mr. and Mrs. Grant Hunter of Cedar City announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Esther to Steven Thorsen, son of Mrs. Eva Thorsen and the late Clifford Thorsen of Bear River City. The couple has circled Oct. 27 as their wedding date in the St. George LDS temple. They will be honored at a reception at the Enchanted Garden that evening in St. George, and will be guests of honor on Nov. 3 at an open house in the Bear River LDS cultural hall. Miss Hunter is a graduate of Cedar City High school and has attended one year at Utah State university. Prospective bridegroom Thorsen is a graduate of Box Elder High school and a four-yea- r LDS seminary graduate. Guest speaker for the evening will be Mrs. Carmen Anderson, reading teacher at Box Elder Junior High school, who will discuss ways in which parents Mrs. Carmen Anderson, BEJHS reading teacher, will be guest speaker at Willard Bay Young Homemakers meeting. Simmons of Beaver Dam. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Valentine and Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Rasmussen enjoyed a four-da- y tour of Idaho, Montana and Wyoming recently. They went to Twin Falls, Sun Valley, Ketchum and stayed over night in Stanley. They went on to Butte and stayed at Livingston, Mont, then entered the north entrace of Yellowstone National park and went through the park coming out the south entrance. Visiting Jackson they came on to the Silver Stream motel and stayed and then came on. The leaves were beautiful according to Valentine but the most spectacular were in Logan canyon and Sardine canyon. w Family Visits Keep Busy Mr. and Mrs. Don (Phyllis) Valentine have returned from a trip that took delightful them to California then up the coast to Portland and home through Idaho. They went through Reno to San Francisco then up the coast to Portland and The Dalles. In The Dalles they said hello to Mrs. Terry (Kathy Chase) Dallin. Coming back through Nampa, Idaho they spent two days with his 10-d- - Mrs; sister-in-la- - Bertha Valentine then came on home. Prior to that trip, Mrs. Valentine accompanied their son and daughter-in-laMr. and Mrs. Eugene Valentine and daughter Karin Melissa when they moved from Salt Lake City to Lexington, Ky. They had both received their doctorates in English and languages from the University of Utah. They are now teaching in the university of Lexington. Mrs. Valentine toured with them to Lexington and visited with them for two weeks in their new home. They visited the site of the house made famous by Stephen Foster in My Old Kentucky Home, and attended a stage play The Stephan Foster Story. She flew home k after her stay. two-wee- Visits Here Mr. and Mrs. Ted Austin are so happy to have their and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Ursel Adams and son Duane, visiting with them from Daorfield, Mont. They stayed a week and then went on to California to visit their daughter and then they will come back. While they were here they and the Austins were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Mrs. Florence Richardson was so happy to have her niece and nephew Mr. and Mrs. Ray E. Taylor of San Francisco visit her Thursday. On Friday Mrs. Taylor and her sisters Mrs. Wilson Hales and Mrs. Ray Cotterell of Ogden came to have dinner with Mrs. Richardson and spend the afternoon. Traveled Extensively Mrs. Johnson traveled extensively with her husband, the late Dr. Richard B. Johnson. She has lived in many parts of the United States including Washington, D.C. She is immediate past president of the Bonneville Business and Professional Womens Club in Ogden. The Brigham City B&PW Club is also sponsoring a doll project again this holiday season with proceeds from the project to be used for scholarships which the club gives annually.
