The local center for hillrunclimbing and ning now is a city cycle park, established last year for this express purpose. And they should be aware also that rules apply for those But remember rules zooming around the park track and climbing its hills. These include a need to wear a helmet at all times while riding. A check of the area this past week found many cyclists doing their thing sans the protective head gear. In addition, all bikes must be silenced, that is have a muffler or other silencing device. And no riding is permitted after dark. There is a complete ban on use of the park by vehicles except on ex- - tablished roads, and firearms are not allowed. Riders should also keep the area clean and know they assume their own personal liability, Smith explained. The area is located immediately east of the Parson gravel pit in east Brigham City and was leased from the owner by Brigham City in cooperation with the cycle association. It is roughly a half-mil- e square, extending north to the Beecher fence, east roughly to the Flatbottom road and south to city and state property near U.S. 89. Its open to all cyclists, in- cluding those not old enough to hold an operators licence. The younger riders are advised to walk their bikes to the park. Those riding to the' area are asked to use the power plant road for access.
