Show In Talk Here BOX ELDER NEWS, Brigham City, Utah Sunday, September 24, 1972 Strike Details Utah Jobs Plan Republican gubernatorial candidate Nicholas Strike revealed his plan to create a Council of Job Builders to stimulate employment in Utah as he talked to members of the Brigham City Rotary club Tuesday. Strike, in his fifth appearance in Box Elder county during the current political campaign, said this plan would create jobs for young people, minorities and others out of work. The council would bring together public and private sectors to chart employment goals and objectives, he said. Strike noted that when Democrat Gov. Calvin L. Rampton first ran for office in 1964, unemployment was the number one issue. And today, eight years later, the number one issue is still unemployment. We have consistently had an unemployment rate higher than the Strike national average, contended. The deadline for receiving entries is 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, with judging scheduled Friday morning, according to a spokesman for the sponsoring Kiwanis entries than ever before. ACCREDITATION PLANS Extensive Study latie View School Seelrs Accreditation An accreditation study is now underway at Lake View Elementary school to see if there are any ways the grade school can better its educational program. Joyce Hansen, accreditation specialist with the Utah State Board of Education, met with Principal Jay Hawkes and Mrogan Hawkes, Box Elder School districts administrator of curriculum this week to discuss plans for the year-lon- g study.
