Streadbeck in marriage, with the couple honored at a wedding luncheon at the Fairmont Park. That evening a reception was held at the Garden Park LDS ward in Salt Lake CUy. Then on June 13 a reception was held at the home of the brides parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan L. Purcell, 624 West Fifth South, Brigham City, honoring the couple. Parents of the bridegroom are L. Dr. and Mrs. Arval Streadbeck of Salt Lake City. Bridal Gown The bride was gowned in an ivory floor length dress styled with an empire waist enhancing a flowing skirt. Her veil of bridal illusion was released by a dainty scalloped She lace carried head-piec- a bouquet of yellow daisies and baby roses. AAUW Miss Carol Purcell and Steven E. vows on June 12 in the Salt Lake LDS to Host State Workshop Brigham City Branch of Amercian Association of University Women are making plans for hosting the annual Utah State Division workshop to be held at the Red Baron restaurant in Brigham City. The workshop will begin with a dinner meeting the evening of July 7 involving board members. A full day's program is planned for Sat. July 8. Purpose of this workshop is to make branch and state plans for the coming years activities and to train newly elected and appointed officers for their various positions. Saturdays evening will begin with registration anda continental breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Following the breakfast, Mayor Olof Zundel will welcome the visiting members. Dr. Virginia Cutler, president and chairman of the program, will be in charge for the day. She will be assisted by Ruth Olsen, division vice president. Keynote address will be given by Mrs. Jeanette Tongren, association bership chairman. mem- Program Meets Group meetings for program planning will be conducted for the various areas of the followed by organization reports from all of the groups. Next will follow plans for the centennial program after which the lunch hour will follow. Resuming the program at 1:30 p.m., topics of the legislative program will be presented by a panel moderated division by Bea Carrol, legislative chairman. Newcomers Hold Family Picnic Newcomers club members and their families enjoyed a summer picnic on Sunday, June 25, at Box Elder campground. Each family brought its own lunch, with the club providing soft drinks for all in attendance. Takes Vacation Just learned from Mrs. Floyd Jensen of her recent visit with her children in Colorado. She traveled to Loveland, Colo, with the Royle Reeves of this city who went to Boulder to visit with their daughter and family Mr. and Mrs. David (RoJean) Norton. She spent the first part of her vacation with the William G. (Dorothy) Smiths. While she was in Loveland they took in several shows and then traveled to Denver with the Smiths to see him depart from Stapleton International airport for Tel Aviv, Israel to attend an International show to demonstrate an electronic instrument he has designed for Hewlett-Packar- d company. Smith will also demonstrate this instrument in various countries throughout Europe stay during his thirty-daabroad. They went sightseeing in Central City, Colo, and spent a day visiting the many places of interest there and exploring the mountain areas surrounding the historic old mining town. The Harrises will return in to their home in Logan. He has been on sabbatical leave from USU in Logan doing atmospheric research at the mid-Augu- st National Atmospheric Research Center in Boulder. Mrs. Jensen returned to Salt and Lake City via was met by her husband Floyd and their son Arden and family of Bountiful where they spent the remainder of the day visiting. Ogden LDS temple was the setting for the June 20 wedding of Mis3 Julie Davis and William S. Jordan, with the couple honored at a wedding dinner at the Mansion House in Ogden following the wedding. Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy J. Davis of Perry. The bridegrooms parents are Mr. and Mrs. Stanley C. Jordan of Los Angeles, Calif. That evening the couple greeted guests at a reception held in the LDS Indian Chapel in Brigham City, and they were also guests of honor on June 24 at an open house at the home of the bridegrooms parents in California. Bridal Gown and wedding reception the bride wore a full length gown of white nylon sheer over taffeta adorned with a lace and ribbon bodice, long puffed sleeves with wide lace cuffs, and a ruffled hemline and train. She carried a bouquet of pink roses. Attending the bride were bridesmaids Susan Valentine, Susan Jordan and Diane Collmar, who were gowned in matching pink long dresses with ruffled hemlines and topped by pink and lavender flowered boleros. On Friday Mr. and Mrs. Reed son-in-la- two-wee- (Kathryn) Simmons of Hayward, Calif, arrived for a weeks stay. Mr. and Mrs. Les Ogden and daughter Kami of Gallup, N.M. arrived here on June 24 to spend two weeks visiting in Utah. They are visiting her parents Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Claybaugh of this city and his folks Mr. and Mrs. C.L. Ogden, in Ogden. They came to Utah at this time to attend the reunions of their high school graduating classes. Hers was held June 24 at the Red Baron restaurant in this city and his was held July 1 at the Ben Lomond hotel in Ogden. Mrs. Alice Warren has been busy with family visitors last month. Here from Upland, Calif., was her daughter Mrs. Joyce Merrell and children David and Lisa. They came here at this time so David could make arrangements to attend Weber State college this fall. Coming from Loveland, Colo, were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harris and children Victor, Kathy, Byron and Blair. They are spending two weeks here and dividing their time between the Bill Harrises and Mrs. Warren. Wedding Cake The bridal table was centered with a three-tierewedding cake made by Mrs. Louise Davis. Another son of the Robert Seiferts, David, will attend Georgia Tech in the fall, after passing entrance exams with only three years of high school. Mrs. Sadie Jensen has just returned from Yakima, Wash, where she went to visit her and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Ronald L. Turpin.
