Show t Grouse Creek Reports BOX Theres happy news for Blaine Tanner this week. He gave his girl friend a diamond ring during the weekend and their wedding is planned for Sept. 1. The bride-to-b- is e Julie Garrett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Garrett of Burley, and Blaine is a son of Bishop and Mrs. Merlin Tanner. Blaine is employed for Simplots working on a dairy farm in Malta. It was a big day last Saturday for the Sanders girls. Phyllis, Jo, Peggy, Marva and Marsha were in Oakley to be baptized. Following the baptismal services, they and their mother, Garrol Sanders, were guests at a dinner party hosted by Rhea and Archie Toyn, Lyman and Eula Kimber. Other guests were the Hughie Thompson family, Emily Kimber and the missionaries Elders Tom Billings, Jeff Rasmussen, and Paul Jeffs. Mary Kimber and Vera returned evening after a Tanner Saturday vacation Mary was in Auborn with her cousin, Mrs. Elizabeth Sitterle. On their way down she visited in Elko, Nev. with Mr. and Mrs. Sam Baker, who worked with them on a ranch. Mary had an enjoyable visit in Cupertino, Calif, with Eldon y in California. Mary was an overnight guest of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Gilbert (Dixie Barnes) at their home in Fresno and then called on another cousin, Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Thompson in Hayward. Vera spent her time in Bakersfield with her daughter and Barbara and Tom Dougherty and had a lovely time there. Then Mary and Vera called on Mr. and Mrs. Harv Tucker and daughter in son-in-la- San Fernando. They returned in time to celebrate Josie Wolfes birthday anniversary and both reported a wonderful time. Test Students Richard Kimber and Glen Hawkes of Brigham were here for a couple of days giving tests to the school students. Then Richard stayed over the weekend to help his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Kimber, put paneling in her house. Lynn Kimber was also home from Ogden for the weekend. Wilda Kimber, Judy Rae Barnedt and son, Dean, and Dawna were in Brigham Dance Studio Sets Recitals Students of Rozelle Henries Dance Studio will present two evenings of dance recitals for the local community, with the tenth annual recitals promising pleasant family occasions for local residents. First of the recitals is slated for April 29 featuring older dance students in the childrens ballet "Pinocchio danced to the music of the original Walt Disney sound track, with the recital scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Box Elder High school auditorium. The ballet was choreographed by Kirsten Rasmussen, Deylene Jeffs, Karleen Bywater and Rozell Henrie and stars local ballet students in the lead and supporting roles. Varied Numbers Program for the evening will include a varied group of numbers including both tap and jazz dances, and a selection of folk dances from around the world. A ballet choreographed by Deylene Jeffs, who joined the teaching staff last fall, is set to the score from "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid will also be included in the evenings entertainment. Dancers will be colorfully costumed as they display the results of many hours of rehearsals in preparation for these performances. Couple Tells Plans For June Ceremony Mr. and Mrs. J. Harvey Tanner, 561 South Second West, announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Kristine to Larry W. Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Willis H. Johnson of Willard. Miss Tanner graduated from Box Elder High school and LDS seminary. She will graduate from Weber State college in June. Prospective bridegroom Johnson graduated from Box Elder High school and LDS Seminary. He fulfilled an LDS mission to Sweden, and is a graduate of Stevens Henager Busininess college presently employed for Internal Revenue Service. The couple plans a June wedding. They were dinner guests of Max and Melissa Tanner. They also visited with Val and Hattie Tanner and Archie and Rhea Toyn. Rhea and Archie visited with their daughter and son and family in Brigham City and then Rhea attended a district meeting for postmasters at the Ogden S.C. Postoffice at Ogden.
