| Show AN ORDINANCE granting to the rocky bocky mountain bell telephone kompany a franchise to erect and maintain telephone lines upon public highways of box elder county state of utah the board of county commissioners of the county it box elder in the state ot of utah ordains as follows section I 1 the board of county commissioners of box elder eider county state of utah hereby grants to the rocky mountain bell telephone company a corporation its successors and assigns the right and privilege to erect and calil malil maintain poles wires cross arms and other fixtures and appurtenances necessary and incident to the operation and maintenance of a telephone and telegraph wires along and over all the cudlic roads highways lanes and alleys in said county and the said rocky mountain bell telephone company its successors and assigns is hereby granted the right privilege and franchise to carry on conduct and operate a telephone and telegraph business in said box elder elde county for a period of twenty five 25 years section 2 said poles shall be placed and wires strung thereon in such a manner as not to interfere with the safety and the traveling public or rights of way the said rocky mountain bell telephone company its successors and assigns shall at all times hold and save said box elder county harmless from any and all liability for damages which may occur or arise by reason of the construction maintenance or operation of said telephone lines in along and over the said roads streets or highways of said box elder county and the location of all poles and lines and any change I 1 in location of the poles and lines shall be under the direction of the board of county commissioners of box elder county section 3 this grant Is made and Is to be enjoyed subject to such regulations and ordinances of a police nature as said board of county Commiss commissioners commissioner loner s in its discretion may adopt not destructive of 0 tile the rights herein granted section 4 that in consideration of the granting of a franchise to the rocky mountain bell telephone company to erect and maintain a telephone line along and over the public highways of box elder county state of utah the said rocky mountain alou tain bell telephone company its successors and assigns are to furnish for the use of the officers of said box elder county during the te term rm of said aid franchise lire five 5 telephones TIE s free of all charge said telephones to be located in such places and connected up in such exchanges in said county as tile the board of county commissioners of said county may from time to time designate and all service of county officials on county business over and on all lines instruments switchboards and appurtenances that may during the he term thereof be owned or operated by the grantee or its successors and assigns shall be free of all charge within a radius of sixty 60 miles from the county seat of said county and as a further consideration for the granting of this franchise with reference of said grantees granlees gran tees telegraph system shall be that all telegrams of box elder county pertaining to the criminal business therein under tinder order of the board oi of county commissioners or signed by the sheriff or county attorney shall be transmitted free of charge over the lines of said grantee and its connections in this state where ever said grantee shall carry on a public telegraph business in this state section 5 that said rocky mountain bell telephone company grantee herein shall within thirty 36 days after the passage of this ordinance file with the clerk of box eller county a written acceptance of this franchise and of all the terms and conditions thereof otherwise this franchise and privileges herein gran red shall be void section 6 this franchise shall in no wise be considered as exclusive as to the granting of other franchises of like nature for like purposes for the erection of similar lines
