visitors mrs airs hannah bywater of the 3rd ard ward of this city died last thursday she had suffered severely for several months and although little hope of her recovery has at any time been entertained her final summons caused the profoundest sorrow in the family she idolized her children her thought was always of them and what she could do to minister to their comfort and the children returned her love she was an active worker in the church to which she belonged having been a teacher in the relief society for more than twenty years she was a good neighbor and a staunch friend her faith and confidence in n her family her reluctance to see evil in her acquaintances or to credit evil reports made her remarkable in that respect the world is better for her haying having lived in it and now that she has passed on one step in the course of eternal progression we trust her labors there may be as acceptable as they were here we sincere sympathy to the gain fam illand jioie may and C con on sol atlon in their faith in the final rc hannah marle marie jensen bywater was born men mch 14 1850 in copenhagen gen denmark her parents were mern mem bers of the church of jesus christ of 0 latter day saints and when she was 8 years old she was baptized baptised sed according to the custom of the church in 1871 she came to this country and lived with the family of adolphus madsen she married james byway erA era march larch 1873 and became the mother of eight children three boys and live five girls of whom four girls and one boy survive her the mother died when hannah was a very young girl anti and naturally the younger children up to her for care and direction she has tour four sisters and one brother in utah all of whom were in attendance at her funeral funeral services were held in the third ward meeting house sunday at 11 a m long before time to commence the seats were all taken and many were turned away tor for want of room the stand and casket were beautifully decorated with pretty powers flowers that had been contributed by loving hands the pall pail bearers were her son alfred her hei brother james jensen and her tour four brothers in law carl nelsen J C elder geo B reeder recalled his first acquaintance with sister bywater relating incidents that had taken place while they were neighbors sister emma lee president of the ward relief society bore testimony to the faithfulness of the deceased and remarked that she had acted as a ward teacher in the association for over twenty two years and had charged her duties with fidelity said I 1 that spirit that we do upon such occasions as the present ile he believed that ahat the deceased was one of those noble spirits that were present at the councils in heaven and had covenanted to come down at this time and do the work she had now accomplished he remembered her all his life and she had been a noble wife and mother she has visited the sick and the fatherless which is true reli religion
