Show Northern Utah District Meeting of Catholic Women Held Saturday at Social Center in Ogden Northern Utah District meet ing of the Diocese of Catholic Women was held Saturday, Dec. 1, at St. Josephs Social Center in Ogden. Father Doremety celebrated the Mass at 10 a. m. at St. Josephs church, after which the ladies proceded to the social center. Father Doremety opened the meeting with prayer. Mrs. John Sereika, Brigham City, district president, presided at the meeting. Quarterly reports were read from Ogden and affiliates. Mrs. Richard Alston, formerly of Brigham City, gave the Christmas pledge, To Keep Christ in Christmas. Mrs. Alston showed several advent wreaths and calendars and explained the making of the wreaths. Father Sweeney then spoke on Christian Doctrine followed by three young ladies from St. Josephs high school entertaining with several vocal arrangements. Father Sweeney closed the meeting with prayer to Our Lady of Good Council. The 53 ladies attending adjourned to the Mansion House for lunch. Brigham City ladies attending were: Mrs. Sereika, Mrs. John Gomez, Mrs. Vincent DeNunzio, Mrs. Joseph Florez, Mrs. Robert Benavediz, Mrs. Orios Jeppson and Mrs. Chris Rio. A short board meeting was held at the conclusion of the lunch. Honeyville Ward Sets Annual Bazaar Honeyville ward Relief society will hold their annual bazaar on Friday evening, Dec. 7, in the ward chapel. Many lovely gifts will be for sale, Mrs. Mary Gardner, president, announces. For sale will be beautiful quilts, pillow slips, dish towels, doilies, aprons, handkerchiefs and many other items. There will be a fish pond for the children and also a homemade candy sale. Smorgasbord supper will be served from six to eight p. m. A charge of 50 cents for high school students and adults, 25 cents for first grade to eighth grade students will be made. tots accompanied by their parents will receive supper free. An entertaining program will begin at 8:30 p. m. Everyone is invited to attend. Pre-scho- Garland Couple Plans Golden Wedding Event A Garland couple, Mr. and Mrs. Willard L. Wood, will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary Saturday, Dec. 8, . be tween the hours of two and nine p. m. in the Relief society rooms of the Garland LDS ward. They request no gifts. Mr. Wood was born Feb. 12, 1887 at Farmington. His wife was born June 2, 1888 at St Johns, Arizona. They have six sons and daughters: Legrand Wood, Dar-ol- d Wood and Mrs. Merle Choate, all of Clearfield; Mrs, Ella Wilde, Layton; Mark Wood, Garland; and Dean Wood, Salt Lake City. Air Force Family ReturnstoU.S. After three years in Frankfurt, Germany, Captain and Mrs. William A. Hamilton and children, Sharon and William, have arrived in the United States. They arrived in New York harbor Nov. 27 aboard the S. S United States. Captain Hamilton has reported for further duty with the U. S. Air Force at the Rome Air Development Center, Griffiss Air Force Base, Rome, New York. Their temporary address is at Rome. Mrs. Hamilton is the former Irena Sessions, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Heber J. Sessions, of this city. 3 Box Local Sailor Returns To Long Beach Base LeRoy Westley, son of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Westley, left Saturday, Dec. 1, to return to U. S. Navy duty at Long Beach, Calif. at He enjoyed Thanksgiving home with his parents. Westley serves as a fireman in the deisel engineering department at Long Beach.
