Palmer and O. C. Tanner, since that time Mr. Palmer has been proprietor of the store. The ideals and policy of the company are to provide finest merchandise at lowest possible prices with all merchandise and services guaranteed, Mr. Palmer stated. There are many who think this store is owned and operated by O. C. Tanner, but this is not the case. Mr. Palmer said. Although, they do have an interest in the company the major interest is owned by Mr. Palmer, and as manager he does all buying and merchandising. The O. Will Smith founded the U & I Cafe in May, 1945, at its present location at 124 South Main, (phone 319). At the present time they are the and managers of the restaurant. The cafe has built a reputation for its delicious fried chicken during its four years existence. They serve clean, good food at all times, according to Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
