Theres an old adage that in a good business transaction both the buyer and the seller profit. Buyers in Brigham City seemed to be of the opinion that they profited, that they received legitimate merchandise at prices lower than they might have expected to pay, at prices below the fair market value these days. The buyers were pleased. The merchants just seemed to like to see people really coming into their stores in droves, and buying like the day before Christmas, here in the sunny springtime. But principally, the good feeling arising from Dollar Days seemed to be the result of buyer and seller, eager to buy and sell, meeting in a friendly and pleasant atmosphere. There was a carnival spirit to the day. We hope everyone had fun, and that there were many good business tranactions. With Our Best Wishes Gardner called yesterday afternoon about 4 oclock to report that a hive of bees were swarming on a tree on the courthouse lawn, just south of the court house. Lee Larsen them. I hope there unswarmed were a lot of kids on hand to see the event. Among experiences that every boy should acquire for his memories, sometime during the golden years, are the old swimmin hole, n a circus and the local masterfully capturing a wayward swarm of bees. (Bob bee-ma- A farmers wife who takes time to contribute to the home-tow- n weekly newspaper contributed the following paragraph recently. It may be just a bit precious, but I liked it. Maybe you will too. First day at school: The sehoolhouse looked larger and the boy smaller than usual. Up until now, he had seemed a good size for his years, but here in the school house, surrounded by so many objects and ways new to him, alongside y youngsters, the eager hands looked yet the face soft and round. Occasionally he glanced through the window at the world outside, where birds sang and soared unhampered by keeping certain hours. The momentary wistfulness was quickly erased from his eyes when teacher announced he might write on the blackboard. This new world was crammed full of exciting, absorbing things to see, hear and learn. The young mind caught a vision of being soon grown. He was proud to be able to print his name and he smiled. Many years will pass before he realizes completely the free, bright world he has forever left behirid, and that is as it should be. Old age is for looking back. Somehow or other, we keep thinking about yard work. It holds a fascination for us thinking about it, that is. Here we are, providing yard work for the kids of the next generation. It works this way. The kid whos doing our yard work now will be so sick and tired of mowing and raking yards, by the time hes grown he'll never want to see another lawnmower. Hell hire a boy to do his work.
