Mrs. Flints brother Dr. and Mrs. Darwin Datwyler and family of Diablo, Calif, were in Logan visiting and they enjoyed a family gathering together. Ronnie Wilde of Hollajay is visiting in Kaysville with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Don Edwards for a few days. Mrs. Suzanne Willey and children of Fairfield, Calif, arrived to visit with her mother, Mrs. Essie Thornley who just had major surgery. Mrs. Willeys husband Steven will join them in a week and after a two week visit in Kaysville and surrounding areas with relatives, will return home. They will also be visiting with Mrs. Willeys sister, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard W. Hill Jr. and family during their stay. Elder Steven Brough has returned home from serving a two year LDS mission to the Oklahoma mission. He returned home Tuesday June 28. He is a member of the APPRECIATION Kaysville 4th LDS Ward and the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Brough. Eugene Prigmore receives a certificate of appreciation from Pres. Clinton D. A THIS CAME as a surprise to Mr. Prigmore when he was asked to be in attendance at ? o:30 a.m. Scout flag-raisin- g ceremony held Thursday, the Fruit Heights First and Second LDS Ward Chapel grounds, not knowing the only purpose was to honor him. In the crisp morning air, with the beautiful mountains to the east as a perfect setting, a large number of Blazer scouts and cub scouts . r 'eaders, parents patrol1and guests from the stake assembled for the impressive ceremony. June 23 at MRS. LUCY Beth Paulsen welcomed the group and special guests, Mr. Prigmore, LaMar Timothy and Pres. Clinton D. Zollinger from the stake. Mrs. Paulsen said, Wt should have gratitude in our hearts each day, for the beauty of this land and the blessings we have of living in this land. MRS. NITA Thomassen spoke on the Meaning of the American flag and the proper handling of it. Blazer Scouts of the Kaysville Fourth Ward gave a flag demonstration with the Kaysville Eighth Ward Scouts as color guard and posting of the colors. TODD EDWARDS from the Kaysville Second Ward gave a talk on how Scouting first started followed by a short talk by Keith Goldsbury on How Thomas Jefferson applied Scouting to his life. Fight Blazer scouts from the Kaysville 13th Ward sang a song. They were Kent Card, Chris Shulz, Kenton Fransen. Arred Franks, Brett Brough, their Delighted to have mission. Their son Mr. and Mrs. David Benton II and daughter Aimee visited before returning to their home in Phoenix, LDS while their parents, Olas and Tamara are touring in Europe. Mrs. Wendell B. Cheney and daughter Miss Carol Joy Cheney entertained at a mission farewell in honor of Miss Kathy Campbell who is leaving to serve an 18 month LDS mission to the Washington-Seattl- e Mission. The shower was given Tuesday evening at the Cheney home with 20 guests attending. Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Williams of Yuba City, Calif, have been visiting with Mrs. Ruby Williams, Mr. and Mrs. John Barker and Mr. and Mrs. George F. Barker. Miss Irene Stoddard has been confined to the McKay-De- e Hospital in Ogden where she has been undergoing treatment. She is the sister of Mrs. Essie Thornley. Mr. and Mrs. David Benton and family of Idaho Falls, Ida. have been visiting with his parents Mr. and Mrs. R.W. Benton while they came to Salt Lake City to pick up their daughter. Miss Barbara Ariz. and Mrs. Frank Robison and daughter Kristin who are members of the cast in the Promised Valley production attended a sunrise service on Sunday June 26 held at This is The Place Monument in Salt Lake City for all the cast members. Guest speaker was President Ezra Taft Benson of the LDS Church. This Promised Valley production will be presented from July 1 through August 27 at the Promised Valley Playhouse in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Garrett of Glendale, Calif, were visitors of Dr. and Mrs. D. K. Barnes. Mrs. Garrett was the former Elaine Beers of Kaysville, a neighbor of Dr. and Mrs. Barnes. Mr. and Mrs. David Lanier and four children of Ephraim visited for four days with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Don Mr. Edwards. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Alice Cheney of Ammon, Idaho visiting with them. Visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard W. Hill Jr. and family were Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Hill and children, Travis and Matt from Fort Collins, Colo. Kevin returned to Colorado after spending the weekend and Mrs. Hill and children remained to visit with the grandparents in Kaysville and also with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Moss in Driggs, Idaho. Miss Janet Ward went to Statesville, North Carolina to visit a few weeks with a friend, Miss Sandy Feimster. Janets sister. Miss Elaine Ward and Miss Mary Hutchison will leave on July 9 for North Carolina and be with Janet and Sandy for a short visit and then all four girls will drive up to Palmyra, New York to attend the Hill Cumorah pageant and then return by car to Utah, sightseeing enroute the points of interest.
