Layton sophomores took second place and Viewmont finished third. There were six teams participating from all WALKING were given only five to ten seconds to turn to a scripture in the Old Testament which answered the question. THE POSSIBLE scriptures were from a list of 33 which all seminary students in the church have been learning this past school year. Mr. Adams was amazed at the speed and accuracy which those students involved displayed during the competition. The contest was exciting, informative and interesting for the participants, as well as for the parents and church leaders who attended, vw The Davis Seminary District Scripture Chase competition for all senior teams in Davis County was held Friday night, April 23 at the Viewmont LDS Seminary. FIVE teams competed against one another in trying to determine what Old Testament scriptures answered of Davis County. SCRIPTURE CHASE JUNIORS The competition consisted the moderator, dealing with modern life situations. An all-stteam was selected for the evenings competition, consisting of the top eight students who scored the highest individual points at the conclusion of all five rounds. THE questions asked had never been given before and the students only had five seconds on some rounds and 10 seconds on others to determine the correct scripture and locate it in their Bible. A team consists of six players per round, and may substitute at the end of each round. It was an exciting, as well as an interesting evening of fun, filled with the spirit of MAKING the all-stteam from Clearfield were Debbie Bateman and Kevin Bereece. Other members of Clearfields winning team were: Norm Fowler, Rosalie Parker, Steve Wilson, Kent Evensen, J. Dean Anderson, Kelly Stoker, Carolyn Ogden, Kuni Quesada and Peaches ar Rael. Students who have been on the scripture chase team for three years are Debbie Bateman, Norm Fowler, Kent Evensen, Kuni Quesada and USDA Choice Beef Chops Bacon Sausage Spareribs Kelly Stoker, vw Vz THIS TEAM was defeated by one point last year as sophomores but led one point at half time and finished ten points ahead of the other teams. The seven teams competing when the final tally was in, finished in this order, Clearfield 320 points; Layton 310 points; Viewmont 299; Bountiful 289; l tb. Cut wrapped end frozen Clearfield 282; Kaysville 252; and Bountiful 243. Some seminaries had more than one team. THF. PUBLIC is invited to attend the Sunday conference session. The sessions will be at 8:30 a.m. for the general session for the 3rd, 6th, 12th and 15th Wards and the second general session will begin at 11:30 a.m. for the 1st, 10th, 7th and 16th Wards. Stake President W. Eiaean Holliday will conduct the conference. Musical numbers will be furnished by the Relief Society Singing Mothers and stake priesthood chorus. WILLIAMN. This year Clearfield took first place in 2 Seminary Bowl, grades and also garnered first in the 10th and 11th grade scripture chase, along with the 12th grade. It was clearly a clean sweep for Clearfield and the first time any school has ever won all six contests, though Don L.
