The Davis County celebration Bicentennial August 21 in conjunction with the annual Davis County Fair, that the county has asked each city throughout the county to build and furnish a float for their Bicentennial parade. THE COUNTY has set aside $1,600 for $100 to go to 16 for float communities competition. Each city is to receive a $100 check to be used toward their expenses of building this float for their city. Jay Cuthbert entertained for members of the Variety Anns Club on Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Cuthbert. For entertainment the club members enjoyed a Bicentennial musical rendered by a group of fifth grade boys from the Wasatch Elementary School in Clearfield. This was indeed very interesting and most well given. Mrs. William S. Holt has been ill for the past three weeks at her home here. BYU.vsb group from Club had conducted a course in proper techniques of baby sitting with much emphasis on safety in the home. This course was taught to fifth grade students. THE SCHOOL PTSA as a gift presented each class in the school with a wall G. E. Clock. They also gave a $200 scholarship fund to Davis High School and therefore the PTSA feels they have completed a successful year. Mr. Lundgreen also reported on the success of the Neighborhood Community Councils that have been organized and set up. PTSA, SHE ANNOUNCED that Davis held their Arts Night last week and that is was a tremendous display of the students work in many departments, but they did not receive full support from the parents and suggested KCA make an effort to encourage everyone in the community to support school activities. Installation of new offficers will be held Friday evening at their Installation Banquet at the Empress Restaurant in Layton. AT THE presnt time they are working on plans for their annual Kaysville Days July 4 celebration. They are planning to have one of the most dynamic fire work displays ever held in the state. IOLA Smith, beautification chairman is again pushing the Kaysville Clean- up Caravan project when She weather permits. stressed that many citizens have not assisted in cleaning up their homes and yard surroundings and that in order for Kaysville to excell in the Bicentennial campaign of beautification city everyone must cooperate. She asked the Davis High representatives to report to the school that there is too much litter about the ground and she is encouraging them to help with the clean-u- p campaign. Caravan THE CLEAN-Udate was tentatively set for Saturday, May 15 at 7:30 a. m. and will begin at the KaysP ville City building. Neal Anderson, KCA Youth Chairman announced that Little League tryouts are to be held May 1. Tryouts will be on May 8. They are organizing a girls softball team and need more girls ages 13 to 15.
