IN THE year-encrime incident report presented to the Clearfield mayor and city council 3,079 crimes were reported to the Clearfield Police Department, well Q still above those reported in 1973 the police figures show that the 13 man department cleared 2,424 of those 3,079 cases which were reported the past year. To COS THE NUMBER of cases reported of dangerous drugs decreased in the past year from 159 to 104 cases, with 100 of those cases cleared. Adams the chairmanship of the Kaysville City Recreation Committee. MR. ORAM has served three consecutive terms (approximately eight years in this leadership position) and was released after his term expired. Paul Smith, Kaysville City Recreation expressed Director thanks and WEVE CHANGED THE WAY TO BORROW! appreciation to Mr. Oram for the outstanding and tremendous service he rendered to all. He has been a terrific organizer and leader, Mr. Smith said. DR. ADAMS is familiar with the program, having Served on the committee for the past seven years, and interested in the activities of the youth also. : The purpose of the committee is to supervise, establish policies and give direction concerning city park and recreation development. THE RECREATION has been instrumental :in directing Kaysville Little League baseball and football ; where between 250 and 300 com-rmitt- t children participated each ; season. It also directs the Kaysville : summer recreation program which includes archery, arts :and crafts, wrestling, art, swimming, gymnastics for ; the girls and numerous other ; activities for children that range in ages from third to eighth grades. :: . THE children are grouped .'In three divisions, third and xfourth, fifth and sixth, and seventh and eighth. The committee has also :: promoted such projects a3 restroom facilities at city parks, new tennis courts : : : rvhich will soon be lighted; current equipment for our parks, ground for the soccer program. i THE KAYSVILLE City recreation offers something for each child in the community. Mr. Oram stated, : Anyone who wants to play, can play, no one is left out if ; he has a desire to par-- , ; ticipate. : At the present time there ,are 10 girls participating on "the fifth and sixth grade : basketball team for the boys and are proving to be good players. -- ! : 3 ; ' : ALL THE activities in the recreation program give the children a basic foundation as they go through school and participate in the various sports. Mr. Oram and Mrs. Adams commented that all the Davis High School varsity basket-- : ball players on the team this year, were students who went through : the Kaysville .. Recreation Little League program and they both feel it : is a terrific program for all youth in the community. IT PROVIDES recreation also for the new neighboring communities, Fruit Heights and Farmington. These two cities contribute some of the : 7- financial support for the - : program.
