Cream shortening; add sugar and honey and cream together until light and fluffy. Add egg and beat well. Then add flour and mix thoroughly. Fold in cereal and raisins. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Decorate with candied cherries and nuts, if desired. Bake in moderate oven (376 F.) 10 to 12 minutes, or until done.
