Tho couhtry here is somewhat 1 illy all over; but it is very beautiful, eppecially in the forests which one sees on nearly every side in many parts. All of the land upon which you do not find house s or that isnt built op by the people, is cultivated, and in many places the vineyards entiiely cover the tmall clevatious, The peonle arc very industrious and cultivate every foot of the land which they are able to get, and cultivating all of the land, thoy take tin greatest care of it, bo that all is well cul.ivattd, and one may sav that many of thun take better ci oof their land than they do their children. They are also very e .ireful of their animals. The are well fid and well gnimal-and tended, you eeldom see-- i thin The one among the number. animals are not turned out in the hills like outs at horn1, hut all are kept at home and fid, and therefore the animals are all tame and do not run away so much as ours when they are left alone fora little, while. In tbe cities you find that most of tho work done by animals is done by horses; but in the country not so many horses are found, and a great deal of the notk n done with cows and oxen. All of the field work is not done by the n.en, but generally by the woIn the country you can see men. the men and wotneu working in the fields, aud lots of times you may see several women working in the field and no men around. In some places the men work in tanneries and other places like that, and as masons, carpenters, etc, and the women do a great deal of the farm work, besides their house-worWages arelow, and all must work in order to live comfortably. Hinoe I arrived here the Swiss and German mission has been divided, and me now separate missions. The headquarters of the German mission is in Hamburg, Germany, and the headquarters of the Swiss mission is in the same place as the former headquarters of the Swiss and German mission. President Loutensock, form er president of the whole mission, is now president of the German s have. ' The fore part of last year the brethren here did not have the privilege of holding meetings, and about b mouth before I arrived two of the brethren petitioned the city officers for the right to hold meetings, and after a short time this was granted them; but they were? first compelled to sign a document to the effect that they would not teach polygamy or uso any false Utah; or pretences todure-peoplet- o afier and America, this, shortly on the 8th of August,1 1S'.)7, the first conlerence of the Stuttgart conference was held here in Stuttgart; and since that time we haye been making considerable progress in our labors, and fiel to acknowledge the hand of the Lord in all. In going from house to house to deliver our glad message and give the yeople the privilege of reading and studying our doctrines, wo often find people who refuse to hear us; but then, on the otbtr hand, we often find other people who are glad to receive us and which we have hiar the meg.-ag- e to deliver, and whenever we find ' ! a story of a icotuan addressed to women. The headache is gone f the twitching b gone! the nervousness b gone! the trembling has ceased, and I have gained twenty-si- x pounds. Health and strength b mine and I am thankful to Dr. Williams Pink Pilb for Pale People for the blessing. Dr. Williams Pink Pilb nave proved a boon to womankind. Acting directly on the blood and nerves, they restore the requisite vitality to all parts of the body, creating functional regularity and perfect harmony throughout the nervous system. The pallor of the cheeks b changed to the delicate blush of health f the eyes brighten! the muscles grow elastic, ambition b created and good health returns. Since arriving here I have enjoyed the be-- t of health, and the blessings of the Lord in my labors. Of cour.-- e the language is about t!u 8atre with me aa with most all of the young men who com8 to this mission somewhat hard; luit I am slowly progressing in the ue of the German language, and have been able to go out trading for the last four and a half months. Most of the time the people say they can understand u?, but here and there we find persons who say they do not understand us; but wo generally make them understand the message which we have to deliver. There is quite a class of people here who call thpmseives Soivul Democrats, and mod of them do not believe in anything. This cla;S is the hardest kind of people we have to deal with, and it is very seldom that we find one of them who will read nny thing. Rut we are continually finding a few good people aud we see that the work of the Lord is evpr making progress in the different parts of the earth. Well, I will have to bring the rambling remarks in my letter to a close, ever praying God to bless you all in your labors, and to bless all of his servants, that the work of redemption may ever roll on to its destiny. I remain as ever, your brother in the cause of truth, istence of disease. Suffering as thousands of her sisters have suffered, she almost despaired of life and yet she was cured.
