Lady Ute juniors Karissa White and Maggie Bartel pulled the game through for Uintah. White hit two clutch free throws and Bartel scored 1 8 points to lead all scorers. Uintah w as ) - 2 going into the game stemming from their record in the Uintah Classic tournament held one week ago. After taking a commanding 13-- 3 lead in the first quarter of play, the Lady Utes stalled offensively in the second. Tooele used the second penod to come alive offensively and ran a 13 - 5 point advantage over Uintah. The Lady Utes held on to a narrow two point 6 margin when the buzzer sounded at the half. Uintah kept control of the third penod to open the fourth with a five-poiadvantage. 32 - 27. The fourth quarter proved a battle for the Lady Utes as Tooele was unwilling to give the game assay. The Buffalos fought back from their deficit to tie the game at 34 with only three minutes remaining. From that point into the final seconds. the game was in the grasp of either team. Uintah finally crept ahead by four until twelve seconds showed on the clock. Lady Ute Kanssa White was fouled and stepped to the free throw line and iced two shots to put the game out of reach. Bartel was the only Lady Ute in double figures, scoring 18 points. Bnttiany Cook added 8, Karalee McKee 7, Karissa White and Sara Cushing each contributed 4, and Jamie Justice added 1.
