The 18 Vernal Junior High students each designed, baked and decorated their individual houses, using an amazing array of confections for detailing. The village sports cookies, colored and white frosting, miniature people and decorations, pretzels, gumdrops, marshmallows, mints, lollipops, lights and greenery. Several created their own frosting trees. Mostly 9th graders, the colorful display was shown to the rest of the Junior High Tuesday only, before being dismantled and each creation going home with its designer. Weve got space problems during the renovation, says Rich. Usually the annual gingerbread house display remains open to visitors for several days. This year, the display tables w ere needed by the students to continue their normal studies in the crowded foods classroom.
