With membership fees paid into the organization along with the cooperation of Government and church agencies, a community recreation center 1ms been built which has at- tracted attention throughout the state and nation. These facilities include an outstanding swimming pool, dance pavilion and spacious grounds for play pregram. Cooperating with the Alpine School District and Orem City and the W. P. A. Recreation department, Scera has sponsored a most interesting and varied recreation program each summer. A staff of trained leaders have carried the program into the various wards and centers. As many as 32 softball teams have boon organized in a season as well as roller skating, tennis playing and other forms of outdoor recreation. Free music courses have been made available to students from six to eighteen, and swimming pool instructors provided who conduct courses i,n life saving and swimming. One of the most attractive features of our program has been the motion picture. In 1933 a lease was negotiated with the Alpine School Board for the use of the Lincoln High School Auditorium on evenings when not in use for school activities. The last couple of years it became a' parent with the increased activities at the high school that if Scera was to continue to maintain the picture program, it would be necessary to build an auditorium. It was also planned that the auditorium should be an all purpose building and would be built large enough to tnoet the needs for years to come. An ideal was set up that the building should have distinctiveness and characteristics and a dignity that would make it more than just an ordinary picture house hut something that would be a credit to the community as well as the organization and could be used for conventions, church gatherings, home dramatics, EGG PRICES are tig'., above last years, and tne highest ratio is the most favorable since lt2I.
