New projects for H boys and girls ae planned for Carbon county. If you are a boy or girl between the ages of 10 and 21, and are not interested in the usual clubs, cooking, sewing, gardening, livestock, then you should consider some of the new clubs which can be formed this year. A carpentry club could be organized for your group. An outline has' been arranged whereby the fudnamentals of good handwork practices could be learned choosing from an extensive list of articles you would like to make and exhibit this year. A Fix-- it club, designed to teach boys and girls handiness around the home could be organized. Fixing those leaky faucets around the house, repairing electrical wiring when it is defective, fixing the iron cords and repairing garden hose are some of the activities taken up in this club. An electrical club could' be 4-- formed whereby the fundamentals of electricity could be learned and even the construction of an electric motor for pleasure and use. A fishing club could be or- ganized. So have many leaders in our county that know how to tie flies and make bamboo poles, and these leaders would be anclub of xious to work with-lhe1- 5 boys and girls this summer and teach them' this fine art. Such a club could even plan for trips whereby they could test their art and find out if the flies they tie would do tha trick. Clubs in leather work, plastics, and similar related subjects could also be organized. This is an excellent opportunity for boys or girls to get startwork. Express your deed in sires to join by enrolling during H enrollment week April 9 to 15, or contact the Extension Service office before that time. 4-- H 4-- UNION SUPPLY CROWDS Sally Murdock Home For Spring Vacation TOP KAISER COAL TEAM Miss Sally Murdock, daughter LEAGUE of Mr. and - Mrs. Ruvy Monroe, IN COAL MAJOR Kaiser Coal and Union Supply continue to hold the lead in the Coal Major league bowling, but last weeks three-wa- y tie for third was with Kaiser broken place Steel, Horse Canyon and Utah Fuel slipping into position in the order named. Union Supply crept one game closer to the leading Kaiser Coal team leaving but four games separating them. Although Kaiser Steel came out on top of the three-wa- y tie situation was not what could have been since the team dropped one of its games to, the last place Sunnydale team. ,Doug Tollis lead the Kaiser Coal team in its battle to stay on top by amassing a three game total score of "548 points. Jack Theorine of Union Supply followed right close with a score of 547. Mike Mihalik rolled up ,the third place score of 522 for Hqjse Canyon while Frank Burdis made 521 for Utah Fuel. Scores running over 500 were tallied up by J. Tobey, J. Maxey and B. Easter. Doug Tollis high single game scorer for the match with one game of 208 was .another of 200. F. Markosek and J.' A Sunnydhle 7 - 50 46 41 : 39 38 16 ' Tommy Dyers Training With Philadelphia Phillies Ball Club Tommy Byers of Sunnydale left Saturday, March 25, for spring training baseball camp at Dyers- burg, Tenn. Tommy is under contract to the Philadelphia Phillies. Just where he will be sent to play is indefinite as yet. He wont know for at least two weeks, that is,, until after the spring training is completed. His wife the former Morine Mayer, will be staying at Dragerton at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Mayer, tin til more definite plans have been made. " spent .the past week at the home of her parents in Dragerton, enjoying spring vacation from the University of Utah, where she is enrolled as a junior. Chad Murdock, a brother, who lived for some time in Dragerton enrolled this month in the State University of lllinois at Urbana, where he will have the good for tune to work under some of the worlds finest organic chemists, while studying for his doctorate in his specialized field of mechanism of organic chemistry Mr. Ruvy (Curly) Monroe, also came home for a visit with his family. He has spent the winter working for a construction firm in Iraan, Texas. LEAD BOWLING TEAMS HOLD FIRM IN LADIES LEAGUE MATCH Standing in the Ladies league bowling remained virtually the same "Wednesday as the first and second place teams battled, to a draw while the third slot team took an additional point from the last place squad. The match between the first - team - and gs place-- Sunny their nearest opponents, the Workmans Market squad, ended in a tie with each team taking two points. Wasatch Store, however, did better in its efforts to improve its league status by. taking three of .four, points, in its match, with the bottom rung Anselmo squad. Little Tollis lead the Snunydale Drugs squad, with a three game tally of 423 points ' while Christine Memory," in turn," set the pace for Workmans Market with a three-gam- e that totaled 409. Mary total of 421 Fahls three-garan a close second for the evenings honors. . Single game score standings followed nearly the same pattern as the game totals with Lillies game of 179 high, followed by Christines game of 160. Mary Fahl and Laura . Driggs each rolled games of 151 points for Wasatch. Store. dale-Dru- Building, Sunnyside The Kiwanis club of Sunny-sid- e began work this week on the remodeling of the old Star ilding in Sunnyside into a Rell Andercenter. community son of the Kiwanis club is directing the work. He stated that the removal of the inclined floor has' been completed with the projection booth to be torn out and the stage shortened next. Mr. Anderson indicated that the plan is to convert the auditorium into a gymnasium for community use with the theatre arrangement retained so that the hall can be used for stage plays and activities of this type. Showers, rest rooms and dressing rooms for men and women are to be installed in the building. Kitchen facilities will be arranged so that the hall can be. used for meetings of clubs, unions, and many other organizations. The Utah Fuel company of Sunnyside has made the building available to the civic club to be remodeled as the community hall. W. B. Odendahl, general superintendent of the Sunnyside operations, stated that the company has set up an appropriation to take care of" the materials needed in the remodeling as well as for the purchase of kitchen equipment and plumbing. Arrangements were made With the Kiwanis club to furnish, the labor for the work with the exception of necessary skilled labor. A rental agreement to reimburse the Utah Fuel company for the. lighting and heating of the building is being arranged with the Kiwanis club. Mr. Anderson stated that the building work is a community project and all those who can are urged to lend a hand in getting the job done. Monday and Friday evenings, starting at 7:00 p.m., have been set aside for the work and citizens of the company may assist at these times. Theatre-bu- -- civic-mind- There will be a Democratic party meeting at the school house this Saturday night, April 8. At offithe meeting will be elected two-yecers for the following term. John IBusch is the retiring chairman of the South Dragerton section, with Conway Oveson retiring secretary and Bill Flynn, the retiring treasurer. In addition nine delegates will be chosen to attend the countywide convention being held the latter part of April: The North Dragerton district is also scheduled to hold its meeting Saturday.
