Protecting Your Child With the peak of the driving season here, youll want your child to be going places with you in the car. To keep the ride pleasant and safe, here are some travel tips: - Make a firm rule: everyone rides buckled up or the car doesnt go. When driving alone with an infant, place the safety car seat (facing backwards) in the front with you. The baby will be happier, and you wont be distracted. If someone else is driving, ride in the back with your infant. ; The back seat is safer. Never tend to a crying baby while driving or take a baby out of its seat while the car is moving. Find a safe place to stop. Dont allow a child to have anything like a lollipop or A bump or a swerve could jam the stock down the throat. Sharp or heavy objects should not be loose in the car. They can be deadly in a crash. If a toddler must ride in a car without a safety seat, use the lap belt worn low and as snug as possible. A lap belt is no substitute for a safety seat if the baby is too young to sit up alone. -- - The congressman will discuss issues of the current race for Governor of the State of Utah also.
