She attended State Teachers College at Valley City and taught school for several years at Dodge North Dakota. Mrs. House studied music at the University of Minneapolis and NlcFail Conservatory. She is still teaching music and serves as guest instructor at the University of Montana. Mr. House was bom in Eastern Iowa near Mechanecsville where he attended schools and graduated from High School in 1908. He attended Iowa State University known at that time as Iowa State College. IN 1912 he went to Western North Dakota where he operated a big tractor and Threshing rig. He served in World War 1 and was attending Officers school in France, when the Armistice was signed in 1918. He received his honorable discharge in April 29, 1919 and on June 9 that same year he was married to Helen De Foe at Stanwood, Iowa. They returned to North Dakota where he resumed farming and cattle raising until 1943 when they returned to Minneapolis. In 1944 he enrolled in an automotive course, at Rock Island Arsnal and was .sent to Tooele 'Army' Depot that same year. He was retired in 1962. Mr. and Mrs. House have filled their lives with many creative and interesting hobbies and have shared their talents with their many friends.
