President Janice Kentch called the meeting to order with Boyd Mrs. Mary Helen Parsons and Mrs. Mary McKellar attended the State Librarians Convention, which was held Friday and Saturday in the Hotel I'tah in Salt laike City. At the conference, needs of the library for the jieople were discussed. There were many outstanding exhibits on display and the ladies also attended two nice lime heons. rt hv. Mrs. Ethel Ahlstrom has gone to Clearfield to spend some time with her daughter Fern, and Don Bush; , "Gee, it was the best part of the whole year!" Hepner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hepner. 266 South Coleman, Tooele, has hdjx'd the Military Airlift Command's (MAC) 61st Military Airlift Wing earn the U. S. Air Force Outstanding Unit A w ard. Airman Hepner, an aircraft mechanic with a unit of the 61st at Hlckain AFB, Hawaii, will wear a distinctive nhlxm as a permanent decoration. The wing was honored for exceptionally meritorious service during a one year period, with particular emphasis on its support of military operations in Southeast Asia. This is the fourth time that the 61st has been so honored. The wing, with headquarters at Hickain, and its many units located throughout the Pacific and Southeast Asia, are charged with the MAC airlift responsibilities in an area from Hawaii west to Pakistan, and from Japan to Antarctica. Statistics for the award period show that in the wing's area of responsibility.5,089, 125 passengers and patients, and 817,618 tons of cargo and mail were airlifted, while 232,390 aircraft landings and takeoffs were logged. To date the w'ing has amassed more than 750,000 accident free flying flours, a record dating back to June 1956 which is unsurpassed by any military organization. The airman is a 1965 graduate of Tooele High School.
