It was a large building with a good size floor for dancing and stage for programs, etc. It was destroyed bv fire some years later. Sam and his family moved to California in 1919. He first lived in Long Beach, Calif., and worked at the shipyards at San Redro, Calif. The next spring they moved to Alhambra, Calif. Sam followed the carpenter trade, too, late in life as he liked carpenter work very much. He did carpenter work on a nuni-be- r of Los Angeles prominent buildings and many many homes in that vicinity. SURVIVING are a daughter , Anna Anderson, El Monte, Calif.; a son, Rex, Brawlev, Calif.; an adopted daughter, Susan Smith, Fontana, Calif.; 10 grand children; 19 great grand children, and 3 great great grandchildren. His wife Clea and daughter Rada preceded him in death. Funeral services were held in the El Monte LDS Second Ward chapel. Bishop Lowell V. Smith officiating. Interment was in Rose Hills Memorial Calif.
