I thought we played really well as soon as our shots started to fall m. 1 think well play a lot better as the season goes on. Head Coach, Coach Jacobsen said that it was a great first win. Assistant Coach, Coach Rowley also speaks of the game, It was good to get some of the football rut out of our players. The team will travel to Manti to play the Templars on Wednesday, Dec. 1. Nov. 21. : Juab wrestlers start season with success Lindsay Hart JUS Correspondent By The Juab High School wrestling team kicked off its season last Wednesday afternoon at the annual Juab Turkey Ice-- Jreakcr T ourna ment. The JY wrestlers competed against vs restlers from Manti, 1 North Sanpete, Gunnison Valley, and Iayson. The Varsity wrestlers dueled Manti. Both teams came away with season opening victories. The JV took first place with 210 points. North Sanpete placed second with 9 points. They were followed by Manti (77), Iayson (56), and Gunnison Valley ( 12). At 12, Juab placed a trio of wrestlers. Spencer Proctor defeated Kvle Smith in the championship, while Devun Day placed third. In the 119 weight class, Justin Reynoso took first place, and Bryson Ashworth wrestled his way to a third place finish. Shad McPherson won the chamand Robert pionship at Johnstun placed fourth. At 130. Kenyon Savage outgunned his opponents in rout to a first place showing, and John Terry did the same at Greenhalgh (1 15) gave the Wa.ps their firt lead with a pin over Preston Bowen. In all, nine of the fourteen Varsity wrestler came away with victories in the season opener. Coach Waldron commented on the performance, saw some good things, but we need to concentrate on fixing our bad things right now. They played against the Enterprise Wolves and beat them 50-4- ers Nine out of the eleven playthat participated scored. Trevor Jones had eleven points, Kellen Nielsen had ten, and Trent Stowell had nine points. Juab had ten points from the free throws.
