Show (The "CTtmps-cfti- Nephi, Utah B Wednesday, October 15, 2003 Page 6 JHS Wasps beat down by Millard 0 Eagles By Heath Dopp Times-New- s m Sports Writer With Juab coming off an impressive Homecoming performance against Gunnison two weeks ago, the Wasps traveled to Fillmore last Friday night to play the undefeated Millard Eagles. Unfortunately, Millard showed why they have an record. Their offense scored 47 points and their defense kept Juab scoreless. Millard started the game with two quick scores. Midway through th-- first half Juabs defense showed some signs of life with Kyle Calloway blocking a field goal attempt by Emilio Gutierrez. Atlee Osborne also got in on the action. For the rest of the game Millard kept the Wasps offense as cold as the weather. Students will study American history and government. Basic Reading: individual appointments with Nor-ee5:00-7:0- n Malquist on Tuesdays. This adult literacy class is designed for students who need instruction in basic reading and comprehension skills. This is a one teacher to one student approach of dis- agreeing with officials. Some fans were warned at halftime to back off or be escorted from the premises. The question now arises: Which team will show up to play the Manti Templars? Photo by Heath Dopp. First Annual Vehicle Day at Nephi Elementary businesses shared their careers as well as their Local company vehicles with students from Nephi Elementary School. The opportunity was for students to learn about careers in the community and to help them consider future jobs. Businesses participating were Nephi Sandstone with a dump truck, Utah Army National Guard with military vehicles, Nephi Fire Department with a fire truck, Juab County Ambulance, Fainter Motor with a wrecker, Nephi City Police, US Postal Service Adult Education classes will begin November 3rd with a mail truck, Nephi Electrica'I Department with a cherry picker, and UDOT with a snow plow. Grades rotated through the different stations and listened to the representatives from each company. Even Alley Gee, event coordinator, went up in the cherry picker. 4 Juab School District's second quarter of adult and community education will begin the week of November :j. 2003. The fee for 18 hours of instruction (nine weeks in most cases) will be $20. Adults who have not graduated from high school may take classes free of charge, and credit will be used toward a high school diploma. Those interested should 023-298,'- 02.3-181- ) registration. The number of students in some classes may be limited, and classes may be canceled if there is not enough interest. Juab played 2 close games but lost 13-2- 5 and 22-2- The.JV team played 4 tough games against the Eagles and came out on top winning the first 2 games and They lost the 3rd game, but came back for the last game winning 25-2- 25-1- 2 15-1- The Freshmen won in five games. The former graduates met along with Juab High School students to participate in the I lomecoming Parade.
