Haney passed away Feb. 23, 2003, in Salt Lake City from a stroke at age 55. He was born Nov. 21. 1917 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Albert and Nelda Ixiretta Ord Haney. He married Helen Olsen on Feb. 18. 1978 in the Manti LDS Temple. He graduated from Brigham Young University. George was a teacher and a scholar throughout his life. I Ie taught for over 30 years at Tintic High School in Eureka. Utah. He has influenced the lives of many students. He received many honors for his outstanding contribution to education in science, math, and technology. He taught other educators the principles of astronomy. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-daSaints and was currently serving as a Stake clerk.
