She married George Arthur Kay Nov. 18, 1916. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on Nov. 14, 1953. He passed away Mar. 4, 1974. Vera grew up in Mona. She moved to Caliente, Nevada, to be near her daughter, Dorothy. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and quilting.; . She is survived by children, Enid Cook of Las Vegas, Nevada, Dorothy Carter of Caliente, Nevada, and Darwin (Annie) Kay of Mona; 9 grandchildren; 22 and great-grandchildre- n; and brothers, Gene Houghton of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Raymond Houghton of Nephi.
