Representatives reported there were problems with hardpan in the indoor barn, dust in the outdoor arena, a poor drainage system in the arena, and agreed the old warm up area needed to be enlarged and replaced. Each party has the right to inspect and audit the books and records of the other party at its own expense. Measurement of the natural gas distributed will be made at the point of delivery. Wasatch will also indemnify the city and hold it harmless from losses, costs, and liabilities occurring under delivery. All natural gas delivered to the city will meet the quality and pressure specifications of our receiving pipeline, said Brough. We are also able to purchase gas at a reasonable price, both now and in the future. In addition, said Brough, natural gas quantities would be guaranteed under the new agreement. That is a benefit to the city, he said. Gas volumes will on Questar pipeline which will also include storage in Clay Basin. Hats off to our city staff, said 4-- Committee. Juab County will be hosting State Individual Horse the Show in 1999 and 2000, said Worthington. The evenftfduld draw many people to the area and would help business in the area. However, the fairgrounds needed to be in top shape for the event. Worthington told commissioners there were some changes which needed to be made. One of those is the layer of hard-pawhich seems to be under the sand in the indoor arena. There have been several horses develop a serious injury because of this, she said. The hardpan was not as much of a problem for roping events but barrel racing, pole bending, and other events of the type, were dangerous being conducted in the barn: We feel like the sand needs to be removed, then the hardpan dug up, said Worthington. New sand could be put back down afterwards. Where the barrels are set up, said Day, the sand moves out and the hard spots get even harder. Horses are becoming more and more expensive to buy and keep, the representatives said in a summary letter which they presented to the commission to keep for review. Because of that fact, the members of riding clubs would like to see conditions exist at the fairgrounds which would keep horses as safe as possible. In the summertime the fairgrounds are used every day and, in the winter months, the locality is used at least four times a week. In addition, a number of different groups use the facilities at the fairgrounds. In the summer months we would like to see the outdoor arena watered and worked up at 4-- H e-sent Brough. David Leavitt, county attorney, said a law intern had been working on the project this past summer and now the ordinances were ready for the commission to consider. He provided copies of the ordinances for the commission to study the next two weeks before the ordinances were considered. The ordinances have been divided up into 14 chapters. Before the commission repeals the old ordinances in order to adopt the new ones, they need to study them and be aware of the changes, where there are changes, which may have been made, said Leavitt. The information will all be on CD Rom, said Leavitt, and will be easily Four Day Weather Forecast accessible. The commissioners felt a need to update and get the county ordinances in a better organized form and put the ordinances into an electronic format. In the future, said Leavitt, we will also put all the minutes of commission meetings in electronic form onto CD Rom." The placement will allow commissioners and citizens easy access to items they may need to check. It will just replace a line on the far north end of Nebo Heights. See Contract on page 2 rmnn rincn L ment. Shawn Elder will be the newest member of the volunteer service. He is an excellent choice, said Chad Brough, mayor. The council will meet with the representatives during a work session. Nephi City Council members approved a business license application for two businesses. The first approved was Economy Floor Covering and Supply. The business, to be operated by Jeff in Mona Boyd, will be but a business license is necessary to do business in Nephi.
