By Shawna Grecnhalgh JHS Correspondent The Juab High School Freshman and JV Football teams fin- ished their season on Thursday night with one loss and one win. The Juab Varsity team traveled to South Summit on Friday night. Even though it was blowing and freezing cold, the team was able to bring home a very season with 7 wins and 2 losses. Great job Freshman boys! Juabs JV team ended their season with a 28-- 8 win over the Wildcats. It was a cold wet game but the team was able to get into the end zone a number of times. Now the JV players will move on to the Varsity level for the remainder of the season. The JV team finished their season with a 3 record. Great job JV team! The Varsity team traveled to South Summit to play in the Ice Bowl" and brought home a 3 win. The game began with Juabs opening drive to march the ball down the field. Nick Bowles scored the first touchdown with a 1 yard run. Juab missed the extra point. With 2 seconds left in the first half, Eric Mortensen kicked a 30 yard field goal. South 6-- important win. The Freshman team ended their season with a 7 loss to South Summit. The game was played well by both teams. It has been a great year! Coach Mortensen and I really enjoyed 6-- working with the Freshman players, stated Coach Jacobsen. There will also be a separate wheel barrel race. The corn cob relay consists of 4 members of each team who will race bare foot across the gym floor against the other teams. The pig calling contest consists of one member from each team who has 10 seconds to make the most creative pig calling sound. The barn yard yodel consists of one member from each to who has 10 seconds to make any sound of a bam yard animal. The redneck obstacle involves the whole team competing against other teams in an unknown course. The final competition is the dummy roping contest where one member from each team must rope a dummy. The Ag Olympics will be judged by 3 high school teachers, they are Ms. Whicker, Mr. Owens, and Mr. Messersmith. Following the Olympics the FFA will host a Halloween dance beginning at 9:00. The cost for the dance is $3.00 for anyone in costume and $4.00 for anyone out of costume. Pictures will be taken. By Shawna Greenhalgh JHS Correspondent Juab High Schools FFA will sponsor an Ag Olympics activity on Thursday October 31st. The Olympics will begin at 1:00 in the memgym. Teams made of 2 bers will compete with other teams in a variety of competitions. The teams must be sponsored by some organization in the school and must have an advisor. The spitting contest consists of one member from each team spit- ting cherry seeds for distance and accuracy. The cow chip stacking consists of one member from each team stacking cow chips to see who can stack them the highest without it tipping over. The chip rolling contest consists of one member from each team rolling a cow chip for distance and accuracy. The Gymnastics is a coed event where they must compete on a bar routine, floor routine, and vaults. The team has 60 seconds to com- plete their routine and must choose their own music. The pumpkin bowling consists of one member from each team bowling with a pumpkin they cannot break the pumpkin.
