Df't't'mbrr 6, 1979 Fore sttrnlkes iDOoiroe Two house fires, one late last Wednesday night and another on Saturday, left one of the structures totally in ruins and the other without a roof. Nephi Fire Chief Boyd Park said the Wednesday fire occured at about 11:30 p.m. at the residence of Evelyn Anderson at 247 East Center. He said the cause of the blaze was not yet known, though it may have been related to an electrical problem. Though the roof of the home was lost, Park said the 15 men at the scene saved most of the inside, including furniture and other items. Two fire trucks were used. The weeks second fire destroyed the residence of Don Pass at 595 East First South. Park said that fire, which started at about 11:25 a.m. Saturday, probably was caused by an elec trical heater in a bedroom. He said it would cost at least $25,000 to replace the home, which had gflffir f . V: $ . v been covered by some insurance. e men with three trucks were at the scene for about three hours. The fire chief said spectators caused a problem at both fires. We would appreciate it if people would stay away, he said. He said some of the spectators try to help the fire fighters and that just enlarges the problem. It actually hinders more than it helps, Park Twenty-on- said. Also, Park said damage to expensive fire hoses results when fire watchers drive over them. One such hose, valued at about $2,000, was damaged during this weeks action. The fire chief said he may be forced to ask the police department to issue citations to persons attending future fires. o ffTcrews "worked hard last Wednesday evening to save the Mrs. Evelyn Anderson in Nephi. home of TNPhoto EMTs will stay with county The East Bob Day and Vard White battle a Saturday morning fire Pass home. at the Don TNPhoto be at Nephi Santa Lumber Co.
