Show students to attend national land judging meet Happy Birthday kids Display your antique quilts , FFA USU urges Four Mt. Nebo FFA members and their advisor will attend the national land judging contest in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma next week. The land judging team will leave by car on Sunday. Persons in the East Juab County area having quilts or coverlets 75 years old or older are invited to display them in the Utah State University and Extension Services Antique Quilt and Coverlet Display on Saturday, April 30. Quilts will be accepted by the Juab County Extension son of the Chalice Club trim some of the rose bushes at the Nephi rose garden during the by members of the Federated Womens Clubs of Nephi. Since its founding, the garden has been dedicated to the memory of all servicemen who have lost their lives in com- bat. Members of the federated womens clubs in the community have been busy during the past ten days pruning the garden and making it more beautiful for the growing and blos- tern. Virginia Gowers of the Garden Club and Mrs. Olive Gar-beof the Ladies Literary Club spearheaded the drive for the establishment of the Nephi Rose Garden. The idea for the community memorial grew out of the Rose Sunday, an original project of the Ladies Literary Club. After several years of operation, the garden was given national recognition and accredition. Annually, leading nurseries of the United tt States contribute their standing varieties to the office until April 29 and be displayed at the Ephraim West Ward cultural hall on Saturday from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. The state antique quilt and coverlet display will be part of the annual Festival of the American West on the USU campus July 29 through Aug. 6. Women are also invited to the annual Sew Show. Three separate shows are being scheduled for next week: May 4 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Provo City Center, 359 West Center; May 5, Fillmore, at the Millard High School auditorium from 10 a.m. to 12 noon; and same day in Richfield from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Highlights of the sew show will be a workshop on A Wise Consumer Buys a Sewing Machine featuring Helen Thack-ery- , USU Consumer information expert and Gwen Bid-dulUSU Home Economist.
