Enrollment up 12 percent at Snow College Snow Colleges enrollment total for fall quarter this year is about 12 percent larger than for the same period last year, President Marvin Higbee revealed Wednesday. At the closing date for fall quarter registration 847 students had enrolled, President Higbee said. Last year, a similar but smaller increase occured. The the growth is encouraging, president said, because official forecasts had indicated that enrollments would probably be somewhat static. The enrollment data indicates at least one trend, according to Ross Findlay, registrar. He said that the number of male and female students now attending Snow is approximately equal-4- 25 men and 422 women. A few years ago, male students outnumbered the women considerably, but the gap has been gradually narrowing as more girls elect to attend college, Findlay said. The data further shows that substantially more freshmen than sophomores are at Snow. The freshmen number 639330 males and 309 females. There are 208 sophomores 95 men and 113 women. . Nearly every one of Utahs counties is represented in the student body. Eighty-seve- n are students and five are from foreign countires. Allen said the copper thefts sometimes isolate towns.
