The two Red Cross chapters in Juab County, through their officials, have voted to support the program both financially and by sound recruitment of an adequate number of blood donors whenever the bloodmobile visits Nephi or Eureka. To help spread the cost of the program throughout the chapters whic directly benefit, each chapter pays a portion of the cost of operating the blood center in Salt Lake City. The pro rata share for the East Juab County chapter, according to R. Elgin Gardner, Chapter Chairman, is $91.80 for a year. The pro rata share for the Tintic chapter of which Mrs. Florence Potts is chairman, is $40.80. These amounts are included in the March goals of the chapters which even now are raising the funds with which to finance their operations for the coming year. The value of the Red Cross Blood program in Utah has been proved. Following are the statistics which reflect the benefit the people of our state have received ..benefits in which during 1957 Juab County residents can share more fully when the program is adopted locally: 15,637 pints of blood were collected; 14,868 pints were shipped to the hospitals on the basis of hospital orders to the Red Cross; 10,167 pints of blood were administered to the patients of 45 hospitals. Of the pints administered, 1,385 were given to veterans who were hospitalized in the V. A. hospitals in Salt Lake City. A total of 300 units of serum albumin were provided to hospitals during the year. Other blood derivatives also were made available. Fibrinogen ...Cooking ELECTRICALLY!
