It is recognized that the library can and should be the hub of the school, offering materials of interest and information to help students go beyond the textbooks in their classes. We feel there has been success in this area as is indicated by the increased use of the facilities and the increase ease with which the library is used. It is our purpose to teach all students to use reference guides and the card catalogue in finding material in the area of their interest. It is hoped before long we can increase the use and service of the library by providing a work area for the librarians, at least one conference room, better and more ready access to the stacks and books by the students, and a better control for administering the library. In the meantime it is hoped we continue to add to the library by substantial budget for the pur- chase and replacements of books. this connection the Juab High School has applied for participa- in the Traveling High School Library with the American Association for the Advancement of Science. The purpose of this g library program is to stimulate an interest in reading science and mathematics books by the senior high school students. If our application is accepted it will mean that some 200 books in science and mathematics, selected from the best available for high schools, will be sent to the school library over the year for use by our students.
