It was originally owned by W. S. Godbe and Benjamin Hampton and the latter is now in possession of the entire property. It is located on Coyote creek five miles east of Coyote, Garfield county, and forty miles east of south from Marysvale, along the Sevier river of which Coyote creek Is the chief tributary. Ore is being shipped to Marysvale by leasers that averages 50 per cent antimony and for which they receive $50 a ton, delivered at the point named. , V'The Mrs. Frank Carpenter ts a convalescent from a severe spell of sickness and her many friends are glad to hear of it. at at Mr. George H. Dern have returneed from an extended visit to eastern points of interest New York, Boston and other cities. .Mrs. Dern also spent several months at her girlhood home at Fremont, Nebraska. Mr. Dern expects to reside in Mercur indefinitely and is having his resi- '3ence here fitted up nicely. ot at Since going in to office the present administration have made more improvements on streets and sidewalks than any previous city officials. The treasury of the city is in a flourishing condition, Mr. J. F. Garland having Mr. collected over $1,000 in poll taxes. His record as a marshall and street commissioner being above criticism. We only trust his successor will be as good an official. Mr. Garland expects to go on the road in September with a first class vaudeville show. Mr. C. E. Mullins, our efficient night police, will join Mr. Garland as his advance agent. We extend to Mr. Garland our best wishes in his venture and regret his leaving our town. Joe has been connected with some of the best shows on the road, and this venture is not new to him. He has also written and published some popular songs. Joe is a good entertainer,, and an artist of ability. The public can look for a good show. ALTA HAPPENINGS.
