Show Christmas in La Sal hope your Christmas was very merry, full of all the good things that Christmas brings: I friends, family, food, fun, Santa (if you were good!). Sorry it was not a White Christmas. But I tried. I thought I could use a little reverse psychology on Mother Nature and get her to make a fool of me and send loads of snow. It didnt work, THE SAN JUAN RECORD Wednesday, December 29, 2004 The event was well attended. The feast was fabulous and included ham, turkey and the trimmings. Entertainment was provided by Brenda Stocks along with her grand- son Donald Keogh on the violin. If you havent heard either of this fine folks perform, either Northern News FROM SIK RRA L alone or together, youve missed a real treat. SAL last laugh and sent just a little talent. she had the teaser snow Thursday morning, then cleared out and left blue skies and COLD and wind behind. I dont care, everyone had a great Christmas anyway! was right about one thing the little ones at La Sal ElI - ementary were as cute as ever! The halls were filled with expectant family and friends for the stellar performance on December 22. Short and sweet and to the point would describe this years presentation. An extra added addition was surprise gift for each student; a certificate from KSL a Radios Quarters for Christmas program. Each can go a receive a new pair of shoes. I bet more folks will be inclined to send a check to KSL next year. One hundred percent of the $$$ goes right for shoes. As always, a jolly, fat guy showed up in the local fire engine with a bag full of goodies for all good little boys and girls (of which there are no other around here). It looks like he has been on a diet though this last year. But he was as jolly as ever and knew every child by name! Way to go Santa. Star date December 22, 2004, La Sal, Utah. Santa again called into action. Loaded another bag full of goodies into his fire engine (even on white years Santa prefers this more modern mode of transportation) and headed off on his self ap- pointed rounds. He was helped by his local elves. Oh, what fun they had. In addition to all the good stuff Santa and the elves provided, local folks kept slipping him packages asking, can you drop this of the so and so for me? Some kids had a very merry Christmas this year. Others were seen hustling around town up to lots of good. They carried plates of goodies to friends, spreading Christmas cheer. One story at one home was of a knock on the door, a scurrying away of little feet. the delight of those inside, Santa had left all their presents on the step. The kids had been afraid that he would not find them as they were out of state for the holidays. Never underestimate Santa! Christmas cheer is not only for the little ones. The La Sal Seniors got together for their first annual Christmas dinner Thursday, December 23, 2004. To We have some great local by Maxine Deeter Its not over yet. Tonight (Wednesday, cember 29,) dont forget the holiday pot luck at the LDS church at 6:00. Promises to be fun. The holidays also bring a much needed rest to local MHS athletes. Theyve been busy. If you dont believe me, dig last weeks paper out of the fire De- starter pile. Lelo Garcia was wrestler of the week. Jon Stocks has been having a great wrestling season as well. Taking and giving, (we still claim him here in La Sal) Antonio Mustache can take a football away from an opponent in mid air, but he can give a winning shot at the buzzer as well.
